As much as I think it's kinda cool since I pretty much live in Newport, I don't think it's the best place. I know for a fact most of the players just go out and get trashed (which I'm not against by any means), but I think training camp would be better in a place away from anything. They should build a nice training complex in the woods in Maine or something, have them go up there all together for 5 days.

Just a random thought.

You mean like Camp Anawana?

I'm not any kind of prude but I'm somewhat against the players going out and getting trashed during training camp.

I just think they should have at least pretended to care about Pierce's suggestion to move camp.  This looks like they just pretty much ignored him, and he will be bitter because of it.

If we're supposed to just assumed they'll get wasted, how would it be any different than when they went to Italy in '08? For all we know they did then, and they may do it now, but if you can't prove it, what's the point of complaining about the location over THAT?

I see this as really insignificant.

Trying to recreate 2007 is unnecessary.

It does seem a bit counterproductive, but the players are going to do what they are going to do.  I know someone who witnessed Big Baby trashed in Newport hitting on every college age female in sight.  Said he was hilareous, but we already know that.

I would have to agree with our captain.

With the new faces we have it should have been the Celtics prerogative to "get away".

We all know Doc has a reputation as a "players coach"  meaning he is not going to run the player in to the ground with 2 a days like Pat Riley did with the Knicks and the Heat.

I think the bounding process and how this team jells together is crucial to our entire season.

Why not start us off on the right foot?

Oh I can prove it, haha... I'm good friends with a girl that "dated" Baby and one that "dated" JR Giddens... Granted Giddens isn't important to us anymore... Salve girls are bad influences, haha, I know that from experience.

I see your point if these were a bunch of rooks, second year players that you are trying to teach the pro-game to without a lot of distractions. Most of these guys are seasoned veterans that aren't in need of direction or mental focus training.

Kind of amusing.

It's my dream to go to a party with Scals and Baby.  I bet they would make for some decent beirut competition (SCAL-A-BRIN-E).
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
