Plus - we all realize that Semih played with NBA players on his Turkish team - none other than Hedo! This is probably where he gets his deft passing eye from.

At the rate he is learning the game, it will be interesting to see how he looks 2 years from now (26?) - under constant grooming from KG, JO, Perk, Shaq....KG yelling and screaming...Semih even appears to be picking up KG's intensity:

Look at that scowl there...I love it!

He has a magnet for terrible officiating calls. Twice now guys have run into him full speed and he has gotten called for it. Has also gotten nabbed a few times for illegal screens that are perfectly OK. It's like the officials need to learn the players before they call them properly...whoops, they call no one properly.

I now have 1 finger on the Semih Erden bandwagon.

Will I tighten my grip, or will I let go...I will keep you posted?

So the officials can't tell the difference between Erden and Perkins?

I can't believe how quickly I scurried on.  It was like night and day watching him in the first preseason game vs. the summer league.

Little early to get retrospective after 4 games.

but...so far he is making me smile.  Hopefully the smile will turn into a big grin by playoff time.

This last game he made me smile, his first two games frustated me really. He fumbled rebounds and passes like Perkins in his second year. Hopefully those were just some first couple of game jitters.

Has to be tough going from a primary big to a role player. (especially with the talent jump in the NBA)

From the small sample size ive seen Semih's got skills...the potential of him getting a lot better is HIGH.

well considering well over half of hte people didn't even think he would make the roster and now he is actually in the rotation, I don't think it is that early at all.

It is quite funny reading this topic from the first post to the last. Things change so fast within a short period of time. Although Semih is playing, I don't even think he is capable of giving his best with a bust shoulder. I guess he will have to eventually get that surgery...

He has more than exceeded my expectations and is much better and a harder worker than I expected.  I have to admit I was wrong the kid can play.  He isn't all world but he is servicable.

  • You say when......
Erden has some skills, desire, and moves well to the right spot.....His D is good, his pics are good, and he runs the floor very well. He has good heads up in the paint on both ends, and although he is new to the league, and new to english..he is doing very well.

His free throw shooting is good, he knows when to dunk, and has some post up potential...he needs some more looks in the paint...he hardly ever gets any passes in the paint......after a while guys stop looking for the pass, you have to involve all 5 guys on the floor...I know one or two guys who did it..and it worked for them ( Bird and Jordon).....
