Gaffney fouled him on one series. The other he should have finished.

Personally I think we could do better with either
Earl Barron or Courtney Sims. I just don't see him getting away with no lift and footwork in the NBA.

Not sure why you dislike him. He's a 7 footer and 7 footers sometimes take up to 5 years to develop.  I think he deserves a chance.  Look how long it took for Perk to become a productive player.  I don't mind having a developmental 7 footer on the bench. Maybe him being 24 will help him pick up things faster.  Who knows, but having him on the bench is fine with me.

Neither him nor Gaffney (lol) were ever going to get any PT so I say keep the taller one.  Worst case scenario he can provide fouls and good depth for practice.

Being 7ft almost always gives you a better chance than other players that have a limited skill set...just look throughout the years in the NBA,the Mikki Moore's,Dampier's of the world manage to carve out themselves a career in the NBA no matter how unfair it might seem. There will always be a place for height(7ft) on a team.

To quote Don Nelson:  "You can't teach height".  he said that right after he drafted Bradley.

If you read the scouting reports on Erden, he has talent and may have been a first rounder a couple of years later had the C's not taken him.

Not to hijack the thread but in the same clip I saw more reasons to like Harangody's prospects for this team longterm. Just seems like a smart player. He's aggressive, stays within himself. Seems to know where his teammates are on the floor. As a tweener it'll be interesting to see how he develops and where he's eventually gonna play but I think this season is gonna really help him. To be honest, other than the repetition of being able o play I'm not sure he gains anything by going down to Maine. Not moreso than staying here and learning from 4 future Hall of Famers.

I agree with your thought process but to putting Dampier and Mikki Moore in the same category is like comparing Michael Jackson to Tito Jackson.

I disagree. I would've taken Earl Barron would put up something like 18pts 17rebounds against us last year. That's potential that i don't see erden doing in 5 years.

In the video, harangody looked good with high game IQ. i'm excited to see how he turns out.

^ what he said.

I just don't get all the concern about Erden.  He's clearly a prospect, a deep prospect, and provides a warm body in practice.  There just aren't that many 7 footers out there, and I'd rather have our starters practice trying to shoot over Erden than trying to shoot over Lasme (for example).

I'm also with Hobbs: if/when a more talented player becomes available... buh-bye to Erden.

I suspect Erden, but I hope Harangody.

If the O'Neals stay healthy, I don't see too many minutes for either of them.  I'd like to see Semih get a chance at some floor time, though.
