PORTLAND, Maine—The Maine Red Claws are holding tryouts as they prepare to get their roster settled before the season opens this fall.

The NBA Development League affiliate of the Boston Celtics and Charlotte Bobcats is holding open tryouts Saturday at the Clark Athletic Center on the campus of the University of Massachussetts at Boston.

About 50 players are expected, including 6-foot-1 Logan Bouchard of Bangor. He attended Southwestern Illinois College.

The Red Claws will open their season on Nov. 19 when they host Austin.

Good luck to Logan.  I'm sure he'll be a fan favorite if he makes the Red Claws roster.

I gotta get up to Portland and check out one of those games this season.
