Only somewhat agree...you could add that player later and still have Rose Boozer Melo.  That is a hell of a team core!

As decent as Noah is at center... Its Carmelo freakin' Anthony. That deal would be a steal for the Bulls and they'd be crazy not to do it.

It's debatable whether Chicago is less of a contender than Denver right now.  A lot of people are very high on the Bulls this year with or without Melo.

Yep.  I also think Noah's leadership is overrated; this is the same guy who was isolating himself from teammates and coaches a couple of seasons ago.  Good player, but not good enough to pass over Carmelo for.

Every team Carmelo's been on has had a winning record and made the playoffs.  Not true of Noah despite having spent less time in the league. 

Besides, everyone knows the new Dominique is Vince Carter.  Although both Carmelo and Vince have at least made a conference finals, unlike Nique.

If I'm Denver, I don't give them Melo without getting Rose in return.  Chicago might still do it for Deng and Rose.  Gives them a frontcourt of Melo, Boozer and Noah.  that'd be one helluva lineup

Chicago is a better team than the Nuggets.

The Knicks, depending on what they give up for Carmelo, should be able to pass the Nuggets by 2011.

I just think with Rose, Boozer, and Anthony the Bulls would be a Phoenix Suns type no-defense team.  And you know all three want to put up big shot attempt numbers.

They are decent contenders as is. I think CHI would take a step back if they did this.

At least Noah is already known as a solid defender, and will undoubtedly get better under Thibs. It is so hard to replace centers like Noah. IMO, he is slightly more polished offensively than Perk, and nearly as good a defender.

He pulled down 20 rebs in a playoff game just a few months ago against CLE. And he hits his free throws at a good clip.

Carmelo as a defender? Not so sure. I know he'd get better in Thibs system, but I think if this trade happened it sets CHI back, and DEN benefits.

I can see CHI potentially beating MIA in a series, myself. They are my darkhorse team. They won't beat Boston, of course, but as their team stands right now I think they are solid talent-wise and chemistry-wise.

Yeah, Chicago isn't stupid; they know that Denver has very little leverage right now.
