Now when we have Delonte and Avery to backup Rondo why not trade Nate for backup SF? i Think we can get a good deal for Nate. For example Xavier Henry from Memphis or Jared Dudley. Do you think it's possible to happen? i mean if we trade Nate for SF we will have players on all postions

Why do you think the Suns would trade us a better player like Jared Dudley for a backup PG when they already have Dragic doing that?  ::)

Because Nash is getting old and we will give Nate + something for Dudley and they have to many SF on the team and they want a guy like Nate who can run and score

Yup, Danny should try to trade Nate Robinson during the season.

Delonte West is the better option at backup point guard and Avery Bradley gives the team a quality third string point guard. Trading Nate may be able to upgrade the backup wings.

I don't know why everyone thinks we have such a horrible conundrum here and the debating over Delonte and Nate.. I don't understand it.

I'm happy to have the both of them. They're both good players and we should all be excited to be able to have both of them coming off our bench.

I think Nate is a better player than Delonte, much more explosive offensively.  I'd rather keep Nate.  Delonte can go nuts at any time.  No way would I trade someone like Nate and count on Delonte.

Why would we want to trade a guy who's so much better than Rondo?   ;)

Nate is definitely expendable and I'm sure Danny will look into trading him over the course of the season.  Just depends what's out there.

I wouldn't trade him.  Delonte is a guy who has had health problems, as well as his mental issues.  I don't want to see him get injured, or have to take time off, and then have us left with only Bradley at the backup PG.

Plus, I think that the return we'd get for Nate wouldn't be worth it.  Last season, as a guy putting up respectable numbers, his trade value was Eddie House and Bill Walker.  I doubt it's increased much since then.

If we can find a GM who believes that Nate is better than Rondo, then we should definitely trade him to that GM.  Short of that, I am not sure we can get enough back for him to make it worth it to trade him.  With Delonte in the fold, we certainly have the flexibility to do it.  I have enough confidence in Delonte to be 100% comfortable trading Nate, assuming we get something worthwhile in return of course.

I like Nate. I am highly skeptical about Delonte's mental health. Avery will take some time to develop before he can likely be relied on.

While the OP has presented a valid idea, I think most of the responses, based upon what we know today, makes this unlikely, or even worth the risk. If during the course of the season, however, Delonte stabilizes and Nate's stock increases, it is certainly worth re-visiting.  TP to OP.

Brilliant! Almost as funny as the Nates better than Rondo post. Let's trade Nate who we haven't really even seen in top form in order to get Jared Dudley? Wow just wow. Hopefully that Lakers fan who was on yesterday giving us props for being more intelligent than lakers fans doesn't see this post and some if the responses. Unreal.

Give this kid one season guys. He's never even had a full training camp here yet. The people who are calling for this trade clearly haven't seen enough of Nate Robinson to judge his skills. Ya he's had ups and downs but his potential is a lot better than Jared Dudley and Delonte West. Seriously we want a guy who can have a setback at any time as our primary backup one?

I have the utmost respect for Nick Agneta and his first hand accounts and descriptions of this disease as was discussed yesterday. What I really took away among other things yesterday from the post on bipolar disorder is that it's not a question of if a setback will happen. But more a question of when and how severe. That's why to me he can't really be counted on. I love his hard nosed play and what he brings to the table but bottom line is Nates better and not as much of a liability. Fair or unfair that's the bottom line.

Man don't call us stupid. It is logical choice to trade Nate. Why? First Nate has potential can score... yeah but until Rondo is here Nate will not play more than 15minutes. And definitively Rondo and Nate will not be on the court at the same time this year because we have more options and we will not play with 6'1 and 5'9 backcourt. So i don't like Delonte but for 12-15min Delonte is just fine and we can't trade Delonte because he has not trade value but Nate has. Celtics has a hole in SF position and this is the best way to fill it. doesn't matter how good Nate will be he will never be a starter here

It's hard to say in the offseason, without having seen Wafer play for us or what kind of lineups Doc will come up with. But in a vacuum I'd rather have a decent backup for PP and a scrap heap backup pg than a good backup pg and a scrap heap backup sf.
