These pictures are slightly contradicting. Provided that they haven't been edited.

I decide to go up and ask John Cena some questions. I ask him about wearing a Laker jersey despite his Boston roots. (It’s embarrassing that I know this. Of this I am aware.) He responds that while he is from Boston and a big Celtics fan, the recent situation means you have to recognize the hospitality of the Staples Center and the city of Los Angeles. This is now three jersey’s he’s worn courtside this playoffs, Celtics, Magic, and Lakers. If I didn’t know better, I’d say he might be altering his actual opinions and feelings in order to better serve what the WWE wants.

The first link says that he's a 'celebrity', so he might have felt pressured to sort of fit in with the whole Hollywood, self-promotional crowd and make an appearance at the Lakers' game... you know how rich Hollywood types & famous entertainers like to watch games/'be seen' at Staples Center? Well, this may be yet another unfortunate case of that sort of thing.

However, according to his Wiki-page, he was born in Massachusetts and in the second picture it looks like he is with his wife, both donning Celtics jerseys, so I'm guessing he's probably a Celtics' fan... =/

Honestly, i don't think I would have the 'balls' to try and confront a guy as huge as John Cena about his appearance at a Lakers' game, especially if it was to question his allegiance to the Celtics franchise, his roots, etc. I mean, if he felt offended and then challenged me to a wrestling match on international television I would be probably go into hiding, lol.

He's from West Newbury Mass, I sure hope he's a C's fan...I think it's likely he's pandering to fans, as he is a face in wwe

He's a "whoever is playing I just want to be looked @" fan like Mark Wahlberg.  ::)

They don't bleed green like his brother Donnie and the rest of us.

If they put a Lakers jersey on my dead corpse I would awaken do a MJ thriller dance and rip it off and burn it like it was a Cavs fan on Jul 8th!

Yea. He's only going to wear what catches the camera and bring attention to him and the WWE. I'm sure Vince McMahon might be standing in his closet dangling his contract next to the home teams jersey each game he attends.
Can't stop, Rondo!

He is a face.  Face's always were the "home team" jersey of the town he is in.

If he was a heel, he would do the opposite.
