TP...I agree Delonte should make the team better and i know your overall point is not to demean other players but i don't think many complained about E.House in 2008.I think he was a little better than OK at the time.Personally i don't like to degrade players who helped us win a championship in any kind of way, especially after they are out the door. The same thing happened with J.Posey,he was the best thing since slice bread when he was on the team. When his name comes up now it seems like a handful still appreciate his efforts.IMO

The best thing about bringing back D-West is that Ilthy is likely going to bring this shirt back to their webstore..

... is that it might lessen the minutes of Ray and he wont play as much with the second unit.

thanks thirstyboots18 now lets hope Daniels and to some extent 'GODY do their part on the SF position for the sake of Paul.

I agree, especially about how good we can be. A lot of predictions have us anywhere from 50-55 wins, but with this depth, we can easily win over 60 again. Health is always a concern, but that is exactly what depth is for. As mentioned, the only concern at this very moment is SF. I believe Daniels is capable for 15-18 mpg, but his injury history is a concern. And if either Pierce or he misses time, who becomes the backup, Harangody? Wafer?

With Perk (and maybe JO) we have a shutdown defense. With Shaq (and maybe JO) we have 5 offensive weapons in one unit. We have a bench that can score. We really have a ton of options, training camp should be fun for the team and especially the coaching staff.

HCA is important in the Finals. As I've said elsewhere, let's hope THIS season the injury bug "takes his talents to South Beach"...

Seriously, I have big concerns about JO, but less about Delonte (on the court).

I think Daniels has the capability based on last season (pre-injury). So if KG is OK, 60 + wins isn't out of the question...

I see DWest "primarily" as Ray Allen's back up at off guard. But I do agree that he can definately play some point when needed, especially when we are going up against a team with a big point, say Tyreke in Sacramento or if DWade plays the point in Miami, etc. That's one of the reasons I like the signing so much. On nights when Nate isn't a great match up at back up point due to size...we can move Delonte in the PG spot and bring Wafer at off guard...

Danny's created some nice flex with this team.

Agreed and good point housecall that we shouldn't demean any past players; I loved what Eddie brought for us in '08 and was pretty bummed when we traded him last year as well. Agreed re Posey to. Even though it might have been the wrong move, if I were GM I might have stuck with Posey long term. I think in the right situation, with motivated guys around him he could still be effective behind pierce for 15 a night...

It is one of the deepest Celtics teams I've seen. I would have loved to have had this type of bench all four years of the PGA era.

Again, if and it's a big "if", we stay healthy and have decent chemistry, I say we steam roll the league

What a great signing I am still extatic about it.  It being a non-guaranteed contract is pretty good too.

He is liked by his teammates, and seems to keep everyone loose,  he's The C's Johnny Damon, well maybe not, I mean, he actually came back here.

Delonte has to the most versatile guard we've had off the bench recently. He gives us a little bit of everything like size, shooting, defense etc. that we had to use multiple players for before. He just needs to make sure his mental health is a priority at all times.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

the best thing is he's actually an NBA-caliber player (borderline starter quality) and he's capable of playing multiple positions -- at least both guard positions and possibly SF in a pinch or in a smallball line up.  He can fill a hole on the roster which is outside shooting that the team needed desperately last year.

Delonte is already small at the 2. I don't want to see him at the 3.

it depends who he's on the court with.  if he's out there with JO and Shaq as the 4 and 5, I think he'll be fine.  keep in mind that he'll most likely be up against the bench 3 of the other team so i really think he'll do fine at the 3 in a pinch/small ball line up.

Great point Brendan, TP. I agree re your leap frog, trade deadline move using some chips. Especially if, say, Ainge does not see Big baby Davis as an ideal fit for a future squad that is built starting in 2012 that will be a more fst break, high flying team built around Rondo...
