Wafer Can and Will Play Some Small Forward

my assumption is that in training camp and practices during the regular season, wafer and quisy will be matched up against ray and pierce (taking turns on both of them). i feel like the more they go up against them in practice, the more ready they will be in nba games to go up against the better wings in the league. same with dwest going up against rondo, ray, and allen.

Ya know what?  I think Doc will wait to see who does how, where,  , and then make up his mind.  He has some interesting options this year...He may use different lineups situationally (is that a real word?)

I've never thought of Marquis as a stopper, and he didn't show me that in Boston.  However, Doc seems to think Marquis' defense is top notch, and he knows more than I do.

I don't think there are too many true stoppers out there, honestly.

I certainly don't think he is a stopper, but I think he showed in flashes that he can be a very good defender last year.  I still think on the few opportunities he had in the regular season, he gave Lebron as much, if not more trouble than Tony Allen did. 

My issues with Daniels are on the offensive end, particularly if he is playing with other non-shooters, and the fact that he can't stay healthy.  But if he is healthy, I feel incredibly confident throwing him out there to guard any SF.

I think the Celtics will play some zone with their second unit so that Shaq doesn't get exposed in the pick and roll. This means that a shorter/weaker 3 like Wafer is less likely to get exposed in the post, where he is most vulnerable.

That's a good point.  I think they already do play pretty much a matchup zone, but they probably will adjust it when Shaq is in there, probably setting up something where he and the other big man are constantly switching, so the other guy is always the one blitzing the perimeter, while Shaq stays either on the backside, or in the lane. 

But with a front line that includes Shaq, JO, KG, and potentially Perk, I don't think many teams are going to be able to do too much work in the post with their SF's.  The help defense will be too good, and the paint will be too clogged.
