It must've been love, but it's o-ver now

Quote
Cavaliers guard Mo Williams unexpectedly bumped into LeBron James at the airport in Cleveland on Sunday, which allowed the former teammates to have a much-needed conversation.

James and Williams were very close during their time together and Williams was one of the players most hurt by LeBron's decision to leave the Cavaliers as a free agent.

"Part of me is still sour ... but I wish him the best," Williams said. "He's got enough people rooting against him, he doesn't need one more."

Hours after James announced he was leaving the Cavaliers, Williams tweeted: "We were so [dang] close. So [dang] close now we have taken leaps and bounds backwards."

They hugged it out.

I cant wait to see that first game Lebron goes back to the Q.

I'm not kidding, I think they're not going to be able to finish the game. He's too close to the audience.

I don't think Lebron was ever close with any one on the cavs...it seem like a onesided situation, everyone always kissing up to him.Get over it Mo and move on with your life.IMO

Don't really think that's the case.  That whole team was actually very close.  I'm sure things went south since the season ended (and possibly a bit before depending on who you believe) but if you watched the Cavs the last few seasons they were close then.

And the person he has known longest on the team, Big Z, even came to Miami and the two remain close friends.

The Browns incident where fans threw things on the field after a botched call comes to mind.  I was living in Cleveland at the time and watched that game on TV live, NUTS.  Players, refs, etc all ducking for cover from beer bottles and everything you can imagine being thrown from the stands.  Pretty sad display, and I guess I wouldn't be surprised if something similar happend in the Q.

I know LBJ will be up for the game.  Should be fun to watch.

As for Mo, I'm sure he's a nice guy and he's a pretty good player, but he wasn't cut out for the "2nd best player" role he was cast in.  I feel bad for him but at the same time he underachieved in Cleveland, especially in the Playoffs.

Action speaks louder than words,if James was close with his team mates he would have given at least one of them some kind of sign or warning he was leaving, you think?...thats what a real friend does.Instead i read soon after him leaving Mo whinning all over the place in shock.(ck out Hoopshype)

I think they were teammates. You ever play a varsity team sport, like football or basketball? During the season, you're like a family. After the season, you say hi when you pass each other but that's about it, with the exception of the guys you were already friends with before the team.

Some of those stuff the Cavs did during warmups and player introductions as well as during game stopages....you can't be "not close" and still do those types of things.

Because we are teammates doesn't mean we are friends... getting alone because we are trying to reach the same goal is one thing. At the pro level of sports there are fewer players that share true friendships.Usually your friends are people you met before you joined a team.

Exactly right.  They were a very close team, that doesn't include the outside of the season relationship though.

If you take our Celtics for example, even with our very close team and the "ubuntu" attitude, you don't see them all being best friends.  Not everyone goes to each others weddings even.
