  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Erden's offensive game give me hope, and he had that block at the end.

My ceiling is Scal. If Semih can play above that I'm satisfied.

;D Scal was never 7feet tall. And played above the rim. Funny comparison though.

Scal lifted his feet a few times in his career, didn't you notice?. Okay how about S. Williams?, lol.

in the last 5 mins they raved about his passing...and that was only bc he dribbled out of a double team

He's actually good at passing the ball. But if KG can tutor him, he can be an excellent passer.

That was shocking. Semih is actually a good passer. For a big man, his court awareness is excellent. In the lowpost He found cutters time and time again. Even made couple of no look passes game prior.

what I saw tonight from erden was good for our future, but on overall defense I though asik was a lot better. now if that kid could just make a darn free throw....

Fiba dudes were killing about his FT shooting. He is atrocious from the line. I like his game though

Physically, Semih's a monster.  He made Krstic look small.  He moves that big frame around pretty well, too.  I don't know if you can say that someone is agile and slightly clumsy at the same time, but that's my take on Semih Erden.

I've seen him make some very slick passes, not just today, but throughout the tournament.  Also, he seems to have some moves around the basket, although, his finishing definitely needs work.

Anyway, I was intriqued by what I saw in summer league, and wanted to see him get a shot at the roster while most were convinced he was a total bum.  I'm even more into him now after watching him in the World Championships.

SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Erden's block at the end of the game was the Play of the Day on NBA tv's " NBA GameTime".

One thing that I like is how quickly he gathers and finishes at the rim: something that I have wanted out of Perk for a few years, but he just can't handle. Rondo feeding Semih on pick and roll dunks might be something to look forward to, but he has a lot of adjusting to do to get to the point of earning non-garbage time minutes.

Except he probably won't be able to handle half of Rondo's passes. The guy averages 2 turnovers per game in 20 minutes of play, and I've seen him fumbling passes with regularity.

It was the same with Cousy, Bird, Magic, DJ...no one could handle their passes at first...have to get used to the way they play and know to expect the unexpected...be a Boy Scout (always prepared).  It comes with practice and trust.   When Rondo was on the TeamUSA, at first no one was ready for his passes (and they are all good players) but after a couple scrimmages they were prepared for them.

It has nothing to do with Rondo's passes, just with Erden's ability to catch a pass which is, well, inferior.
