“It’s almost a given they’re going to move him,” said a front-office executive who’s talked with the Nuggets and Anthony’s agents with CAA.

Quote
Anthony wants to leave Denver and get his three-year, $65 million contract extension now. This partnership is rounding third and rapidly reaching disrepair. Denver is willing to trade Anthony, J.R. Smith and Kenyon Martin, and start over again, sources said.

Quote
The Nuggets made it clear to teams they want young players and draft picks for Anthony, league executives said. The New Jersey Nets and Los Angeles Clippers have emerged as the two most probable destinations for Anthony because they have assets that appeal to Denver.

Quote
Golden State and Houston are contenders, too. What’s more, the Charlotte Bobcats are a sleeper because of Anthony’s Brand Jordan shoe deal and the team’s ability to give the Nuggets a salary-dump proposal.

Wow, this is getting pretty interesting, but I really hope they keep Melo out in the west. So hopefully Clippers or Houston ends up getting him.

Unfortunately, he probably won't agree to sign the extension if it means going to Toronto.

Yea looks like no NY connection for him and Amare. I feel kind of bad for Billups in all of this. I love that guy and it would be a shame for him to finish his career on a lottery team. Send Carmelo to the Clippers!

Become Legendary.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I hope he goes to the Nets. I don't even know why i'm rooting for them anymore, but I am.

Troy Murphy, Kris Humphries, and a #1 gets it done. (Money-wise...not actual-wise.)

How about Chris Quinn?  I hear his stock is super high these days.   ;)

Stay out west.

San Antonio- Tony Parker and Antonio McDyess= 18.3 Mil
Denver- Carmelo Anthony = 17.1 Mil

Boom!

George Hill- Manu Ginobili- Carmelo Anthony, Tiago Splitter, Tim Duncan

OR

Utah- Andrei Kirilenko= 17.8 Mil + 1st round pick
Denver- Carmelo= 17.1 Mil

This would instantly stack up Utah as a possible favorite out west.

Deron Williams, Ronnie Price, Carmelo Anthony, Al Jefferson, Mehmet Okur

No way Denver trades Anthony to any top tier team in the West, least of all to Utah who just ousted them in 6 games in the first round.

If Denver trades Anthony they're going to try very hard to send him east.

Carmelo Anthony to Philadelphia for Iggy + T.Young?

A Holiday + Turner + Melo core for Phily to build around.

Hmmm, I could see that happening.

I wonder what sort of package the Nuggets are willing to hold out for.

Let's see:

Atlanta -- package based around Josh Smith or Al Horford
Charlotte -- Gerald Wallace
Chicago -- Luol Deng
Dallas -- Roddy + Caron
Golden State -- Monta + Biedrins
Houston -- K-Mart + pieces, possibly Brooks + pieces
LA Clippers -- Eric Gordon, maybe Kaman
LA Lakers -- Andrew Bynum
Memphis -- OJ Mayo
New York -- Gallo
New Jersey -- Favors + pieces
Phily -- Iggy or Turner
Portland -- Aldridge
San An -- T.Parker
Sacramento -- Cousins
Utah -- Millsap + G.Hayward
Toronto -- Bargnani + Davis + DeRozan
Washington -- Blatche, McGee and draft picks

Teams that have little to offer -- Boston, Cleveland, Detroit, Indiana, Miami, Milwaukee, Minnesota, New Orleans, Oklahoma, Orlando, Phoenix

------------------------------------------

I think that is the ball park that Denver should be looking at.

Which raises a more difficult question what can they get for Kenyon Martin and J.R. Smith?

Its tough to get value for three players at once!
