simple yes or no.
yes

Too much is getting made of the gun incident. No one was threatened no one was injured. Whats your worst moment?

He gives us legimate point guard depth to go along with power forward and center. Small Forward will be the only weak area on this roster. Get it done Danny.

Yes.

The gun incident is extremely serious though.  Any time you're dealing with guns it's serious business.  If any one can handle Delonte though it's Doc.  You never saw these issues with Delonte come up when he was with the C's.

we need sf not undersized sg...we already have those
I also don't think he is any better than backup pg/sg but feel nate offers us more

Yes -- I couldn't care less about his off-court troubles

No - his off court troubles would offset his limited contributions to a degree that would make him irrelevant. It has been well documented that he enjoys getting high, carrying weapons, and has numerous personal issues. Among these personal issues is the fact that he has a fear of flying, and it's bad enough that it held up the Cleveland Cavaliers flight at one point last season. We don't need phony gangsters on the Celtics who have an affinity for irresponsibility and immaturity.

Yes

I am less concerned with his off court past than giving him a chance at redemption. I dont think he is bad person, no more of a knucklehead kid than Big Baby or Tony Allen was and is in the past. Instead of evaluating what he did, hold him accountable for what he does now.

Let him prove he is a worthy Celtic teammate at the expense of a few other teams and we can reap the benefits. A hot shooting, hustling and dishing Delonte West off the bench for 15 mpg will make our life much more pleasant.

I'm obviously not on board with the 24-win Reunion Bandwagon.

With that said, and noting that West does not fit a need on this team at all, I'm OK with bringing him in on two conditions:

1. Drug test the devil out of him.

2. No leash - one mistake and he's cut. Period.

Still believe he's a thug, but Danny has had some success with less than desirable characters.

He's better than Wafer, I think.  I'd like Delonte back.  If Wafer pans out and a SF (a bigger area of need) becomes available, cut Erden.

no.

not because of his offcourt issues or because I don't think he has some skills but because he doesn't play the position that is the current weakspot on the bench -- SF.

would much rather have a SF added to the bench---either now, the trading deadline or the waiver wire.
