Yeah, I think so, too. I was at work watching a Tennessee Vols game when they broke into the game to announce his death. The first thing I did was run to the phone and call my father as if a member of the family had died and in some ways that's exactly what happened.
Red Auerbach put together a tradition and a team that would become a huge part of my family's traditions. Every Sunday the entire family was together for the network game of the week to watch the Celtics (back when they were winning and on every week)
The Celtics have been a huge part of my life and family experiences and Red Auerbach had everything to do with it.
