Point-Guards aren't supposed to carry a team. PG usually supplement great Wing or a great Big. In this instance, Rondo has both.

I hope so, but the way the NBA is set up, less and less marquee guys retire where they start

Of coures he will.  Rondo has the potetial to be a top 5 pg of all time if not better.  His potential is unbelieveable. 


He should be Team USA's pg too, but it was a bad move by them.  I think there was more to it than him getting cut because of his shot and leaving for family matters (really hope this wasn't the reason).

Don't mean to be Debbie Downer, but I'm not so convinced.

Top 3 PG in the NBA? Perhaps.

Lifelong Celtic? Possibly.

But he showed he does not currently have the ability to carry a team to a championship. What he can do is win important games for a championship caliber team, but there is a difference between the two. When Pierce looked sluggish and/or Ray's shot wasn't falling, Rondo could not take over. That's his ONLY weakness right now.

But I also think that the one thing that could send Rondo out of here is...well, Rondo.  As long as it's deemed he's still working to improve and wants to be a good teammate he'll be here.  But I also think that as long as Danny Ainge is the GM anything can happen...

I like him, but then again if he was traded tomorrow I wouldn't be shocked.  That's just the way it is in today's NBA.

I dont agree that he can carry this team when need be.  Rondo has carried this team before, but there are a ton of nba players that can carry an NBA team when they get into a groove and theyre hot.  But like someone has already said in this thread, there is a difference between having the ability to carry a team, and being able to step up and carry the team when they need it.  Rondo hasnt proven he can do that, if he could, he'd be a two time NBA champ now.
