I'm a big sneaker-head and found it odd that a post/any talk hasn't begun with regards to KG's new shoe sponsor (ANTA) and his new PE's.

From http://www.sneakerfiles.com/2010/08/18/kevin-garnetts-anta-signature/Sneakerfiles.com: "Today we have our first look at KG’s new signature model, name unknown as of now. There are two versions. First is an away colorway with a forefoot strap, the second pair bares resemblance to the away in certain aspects but looks to be an entirely different shoe done in a home colorway. The third model is the same as the ‘home’ version, due to poor lighting we can’t tell what the exact colorway is, only that it looks to be black/royal blue and yellow… not sure why since KG plays for the Celtics."

What do you all think of his new Player Exclusives?

IMHO I think they lack style. They also look bulky and like they are lacking technology. I also think they should be a high top shoe as well.

They look like poor quality, especially where the sole and the shoe meet!!

Stephon Marbury laughing his-_-off. His $14 Starbury were a lot nicer. Hopefully KG is compensated well to be wearing those.

those are hot...too bad I probably could never afford a pair; between finding tickets to a home game at the Garden this season and actually driving a few hundred miles in order to attend said home-game I really won't have much expendable cash to invest in other Celtics 'regalia'.

Still trying to cop a Rondo jersey but those are going for around 90 bucks a pop in my neighborhood. That, and I just ordered a vintage Cincinnati Royals jersey that cost over one-hundred and ten dollars to go with my Garnett jersey. Guess that's what I get for being a sports junkie  ::)

Jerseys are like $45 bucks..how are they going around $90? I mean, I'm sure someone would be able to ship you one for less than $90..

I just hope KG doesn't get injured wearing these.

If an NBA has been laughs in China, does anyone hear him?

Tell me with all his ankle and knee woes he's not gonna be wearing these stupid things during the season... Or is that just wishful thinking?

  • Another undersized Celtic...
I guess the white ones are decent, but the others are bunk--they remind of when British Knights were kinda cool back in the late 80's early 90's. Sorry KG, hope fashion isn't your long term plan after the NBA!

Don't like 'em, I have the Kobe V's for ball and they're amazing (yes, Kobe I know...) and that's mainly the way they're made.

I think he will be wearing them unfortunately.

Ron Artest was sponsored by some Chinese shoe company last year and wore the shoes on the floor and Phil Jackson was constantly ragging on him for how they looked but mainly he thought they were cheap and he was going to be injured on the floor as a result.  And he doesn't have the injury history and miles on him KG has.

I hope they are better than they look and it doesn't affect him.

I could've sworn I recall Phil Jackson saying something like "it looks like Ron Artest is running around out there with concrete shoes on"..not sure if he meant that literally or not. But either way, I'd rather not see him wear sneakers that are cheaply made nor slow him down a bit even more.
