So, the plan is to end Day 2's auction at midnight tonight, then any bids through Monday's deadline will stay on Day 1.

Can anyone refresh me on the logic of the Sniper extension?  This came up last night.  I remember that we've done it in the past, I just can't remember the reasoning.

The rule is bidding ends at either midnight or 15 minutes after the last bid.  The first year we had people waiting until 11:59 to make bids, so the logic was to give other owners a chance to respond and prevent last-second bidding as a strategy.

Right, but what's the advantage of a last second bid if they just move to Day 1 anyhow?

Is it that people might have been on an another expiring player if they knew they were going to be outbid?

Sure, how about "Each day's bidding ends at either midnight or 15 minutes after the last bid, whichever is later.  The 15 minutes restarts with each bid that's made, even if it's after midnight."
