Simmons mentioned this in his podcast.   This Celtic team might be the richest team ever.

Count up the money each player has earned off NBA contracts (not even counting endorsements... which is probably significant when you consider guys like KG and Shaq)

Shaq has made 290 million
KG = 251 million
Ray = 158 million
Jermaine O'Neal = 153 million
Pierce  = 123 million
... Sheed will probably retire, but he made 150 million ....

I mean... had they re-signed Michael Finley... thats a guy who made 138 million.

The Big 3 should earn another 120 million combined before they retire.

Just add up Shaq, KG, Ray, Jermaine and Paul and they have collectively earned close to a billion dollars from the NBA (again... not even counting endorsements) ...

They could buy a team.

the point is... if you're a scrub like Avery Bradley... you're going to love partying with this team.

I mean... Shaq made 15 million in endorsements as a washed up role player on the Cavs last year.  These guys have lots of money.

  • Be the posts you wish to see in the world.
Some more fun stats:

If you include Sheed, the Celtics have 5 of the top 16 active scorers in the NBA.  Add Finley (cheating, but whatever) and you've got 6.  No Sheed or Finley and we've still got 4 of the top 8.

The same 5 guys on the roster (inc Sheed) have combined to score 107,246 pts in the regular season, and 13,688 in the playoffs.  Add Finley and it's 124,552 regular season and 15,213 in the playoffs.  Crazy.
