That's the first Boxers pick I don't like.  I just think there was better talent on the board.

Perhaps, but Haslem is always criminally underrated by fans, CBloggers, etc.

But guys like DWade (and evidently NickA and Gainesville Celtic) understand his value to a championship team.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I think those bagging on splitter just don't know his game. there is a reason the spurs signing of him was heralded as the best deal of the offseason.

Eh...  I've drafted Haslem before.  I understand his value as a player.  I don't understand his value as an early 4th rounder.

From my perspective, the Boxers are playing catchup in terms of talent right now with some of the other Eastern Conference teams, and in my opinion, it wasn't the time to gamble on a role player, even one who hustles a lot and gives you around 10/10.

I don't think anybody is necessarily criticizing Splitter.  They're criticizing how a team with him as a starter will hold up in the voting.

The Boxers lost their chance to "catch up on talent" very early....like most of the others that the lottery decided were picking after 25th in the first.

Now they have to build a team, not a group of talented players. My SFs and PGs will be there later. My role playing bigs that can rebound and play excellent defense won't.
