Fear the Deer nice play to get another shooter in that lineup. Looks like the team to beat in the east.

We have a trade:

Pacers (action781) Trades : Ray Allen and 4.3
(Marcin Gortat)

Milwaukee (rondo2287) Trades: Chris Kaman and 5.19

Nice trade for Milwaukee, I think.  Gortat fits the team better, and Ray is a nice piece to have in the backcourt.

With Indiana, I like Kaman in a vacuum, but not so much when the only other two players on the roster are Kobe and Tyson Chandler.

Roster is still rounding out. :)

I think the bucks made out very well in that deal, but I have the Hawks and Bull's still ahead of them in the EC. (Assuming IP can draft his remaining two starters well)

I'm not a huge fan of Salmons...  He's just too erratic / inconsistent for me, I guess.

I haven't done an in-depth analysis, but for right now, I'd agree those are the top three Eastern teams (in some order).  Washington is solid, too, although it lacks the first-tier elite talent of these three.

In the West, I like Sacramento. ;)

I was on the fence for him myself, but liked the fact that he could create his own shot. Looking through basketball-reference, cuz I suspected the same thing, his numbers reflect more consistency than I would've thought http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/s/salmojo01.html

The Bulls are the team to beat. Stopping LeBron James when he has a second scorer like Amare Stoudemire on his team (very good trade to get Amare) will be extremely difficult. Not wild about Emeka Okafor here but he'll be okay.

This team should have no problem filling out the final two positions. The PG position is very deep and full of talent and the Bulls can choose a player from either wing spot to play alongside LeBron as their two guard.

Chicago are the frontrunner to win the league.

Yeah, it's hard to put my finger on it exactly.  With Salmons, the inconsistency isn't even so much game to game.  It's kind of like Tony Allen, that inconsistent quarter to quarter, possession to possession.  Like I said, it's hard to describe.

But, at the same time, Salmons can do a lot of things pretty well.  It's an eye of the beholder thing again.

Agreed, but I like Salmons on a team with Dwight Howard.

Dwight Howard = A low usage superstar who can dominate a game defensively + on the glass + is at his best when he has scorers around offensively.

You've got this all wrong, Who. You're supposed to be tearing down the other GMs, not building them up.  ;D

Since you didn't GM last year Who I'm cutting you some slack, but folks should be real careful about their Lebron love ---- the ex-Orlando GMs can always go back and find your "reasons" they couldn't win even the East last year. :(

(People were apoplectic over our Lebron-M.Gasol-Okafor first 3 picks, but Lebron-Amare-Okafor is the leader in the clubhouse?!?)

As I say every year, I think its too early to make judgements on teams b/c they're all still incomplete --- even MIL. Last year there were teams w/ good starting 5's and absolutely NO bench. And those benches were important as everyone started looking back on teams this year --- injuries, poor performance, etc. We all fell victim to to some degree.

We're building TEAMS not just starting units.
