Kind of stunned with the reaches this round. Again this is just my evaluations but

I didn't have Cousins in the top 100 players
I didn't have Biedrins in the top 120 players
I didn't have Turner in the top 150 players
I didn't have Favors in the top 210 players

I was thinking of moving up.

Well no two draft boards are going to look the same at this point. I was chiding you before that even though Luis Scola is a player I love not sure I've ever seen him discussed as a top 50-60 player.

No, but I wanted to secure a good front line and a good fit alongside Bynum. Of the PFs left on the board, he was, IMHO, the one with the best overall game. Good defender, good rebounder, good scorer, good heart, good hustle, healthy.

He's not great at anything but he's good to really good at most everything, and to me that was important.

my comment was a bit tounge-in-cheek. I think it's a low risk, high reward pick here. worst case you get a 13/6 guy, best case he's back to like 18/9 --- and Brand's always been high character (except the bait-and-switch he pulled on Baron Davis  )

I like your team.  The only question you're going to be asked with Brand is, can he still play PF?  Philly was using him a lot as a center last year, as he's backed on the bounds.

The good thing for you is, Varejao can play both power forward and center.

(I like Brand beside Durant; I had those two together in the Pick 2 draft.)

I like your team.  The only question you're going to be asked with Brand is, can he still play PF?  Philly was using him a lot as a center last year, as he's backed on the bounds.

The PF/C thing is exactly why I took the chance on him.  Varejao can guard both positions and is pretty versatile so whatever benefits Brand the most is where he will play.
