my hope is that when Perk comes back, Shaq shows him some moves, and makes Perk's offensive game more than a joke.

They'll be fine, they're both tough, hard-working NBA vets.

This. I'm kinda looking forward to viewing a pass into the block as something other than a moment of horror.

Perk didn't like Garnett either before he came and publicly called him "overrated"
I don't think Perk likes anyone who isn't in green.

Exactly.  No big deal.  Perk and Jermaine O'Neal have gotten into it many times if anyone has been paying attention.

Nothing to see here.  Move along.  They are teammates now.

you can easily find videos of Perk and JO going at it, most memorable one for me was when JO was in Toronto

but then again Perk is just really competitive...I like that about him, I mean if only Perk can improve his offense and leaping ability, that'll be a big plus for us

Yeah ... Bill Walton is at his best when his mouth is at rest.
So is Shaq, for that matter. Did you see that ridiculous "tweet war" with Jim Rome?

I think these 2 will be nothing but great for each other.  They will push each other's game.  I think Perk can learn a lot from Aristotle as far as the game and I think Perk will push Shaq harder in practice than anyone he has ever had.

I sure hope not. This is all just speculation, but via ESPN Boston theres this article about Perk and his training camp. He was asked and i guess everybody at the camp to comment on the Shaq acquisition and Perk declined to comment. Also from Shaqs press article he mentions playing along with Ray, Paul, KG, even Rajon and that he's honored to now play with them. No mention of Perk. As we know they both got into it last year when we faced Cleveland, it looked more heated than the usual shoulder bump.

I'm not sure what to think of all this I'm probably reaching, but something about its not sitting well with me.

He didn't mention his fellow LSU alum BBD either...  It probably has more to do with the fact that Perkins is afterthought when listing the talented players on the C's from an outsider.  We love him but his 7/7 averages aren't all that to most players/fans outside of Boston.  Plus Perk loves to flail those 'bows (I love it)  so he probably isn't well liked around the league.  And that lovely scowl (again which I love).

What the 5 min shuffle and back down shuffle back down wild line drive hook doesn't tickle your fancy?

Or the clumsy "drunk KG" fadaway... He really needs work on those post moves.  If Kobe can work on his Perk should be able to.  If he was a reliable post scorer... but that's like the Rondo jumpshot talk.

Maybe Perk can learn some post up moves from the Shaqster (Jolly Green Giant).

So can the Pick Up Truck (Glen Davis).
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Shaq has moves that you can't teach. Like being 350+ lbs, for example :)

Some guys just are what they are and I love Perk (at 4m a year) for what he gives the C's.  But to think he's ever going be a polished interior scorer seems like a pipe dream.  Maybe it's more homerism than anything but, I still think Rondo will improve his jump shot to a respectable level.

We'll see about Rondo, he's on another echelon as a star player and All-Star while Perk has to be more focused on his role, but if I was him I would go work with whoever Bynum does (Kareem maybe? I'm not sure) because he keeps the ball up at his shoulder level so well.  If Perk would just do that instead of bringing the ball down and getting stripped like he does he would immediately be much improved.

bill walton needs to sit down with shaq and fill him in on how to appraoch coming to the Celtics - walton, of course, handled it beautifully way back in the late summer of 1985 (with a slight prodding from ML) by going straight to robert parish to explain his intentions and agenda with the team - which was to come in and be part of a strong bench that would help win a title .......... if shaq would listen to walton, because they have two very different personalities.

if shaq wants that extra ring - and i really think that was his ultimate agenda when he chose boston over atlanta - then he needs to come in and make certain to enhance the team chemistry, not harm it.
AND and and Shaq needs to loose 40 pounds at least, do some offseason work big fella.  He gets into shape we are a beast of a team.

Is there any concrete evidence that there is already a chemistry problem between Shaq and Perkins or are we trying to create a chemistry problem where there is none, as we speak? If there is evidence, I would like to see the basis of that assumption. A matter of order.
