Silly.

If a guy helps us, who cares what uniform he used to wear, especially if it was 5 years ago.

And Shaq is hardly the face of the Laker franchise as he's played for Orlando, Miami, Phoenix, and Cleveland as well.

I'm more worried that the Celtics built their team off smothering defense and Snaq sucks at pick & roll defense and his perimeter defense is non-existant.  On offense he camps out in the paint which means his defender will always be near the basket to help stop our great penetrating, nonshooting guard Rondo, he did the same thing to Lebron in the playoffs.

That isn't entirely true, what stopped LeBron was his lack of will to win.   One big in the paint won't stop penetration, if the defenders collapse, you can dump in into the big, if they stay he is position for the carom.

We have had at times a glaring lack of post offense.  Shaq only will have to play post offense.  Shaq has about the same mobility as KP.  He is a better offensive game and is a much better passer.  No one stays on  KP and they can sag off him and help with the drives, they won't be able to do that with Shaq.    Shaq also can catch the ball and finish much better than Perkins.  Rondo can dish it down low and have a chance of an assist rather than a baubbled pass.

I love KP 's defense.   But I think many here are blatant homers if they think his offense is remotely equal to Shaq's.  Shaq is also a superb passer, check out some of his assists per year and I think he will pleasantly surprise some peeps with his passing.

I don't know why, but I can't let it go.  Shaq will always be a Laker to me, I would have prefered Kwame even though he's not on the same level.  I do understand some of the reasoning but in my heart it feels wrong.  Looking at shaq in a green uniform is going to make it really hard to feel inspired, if he couldn't help Lebron how can he help us?  He's a former Laker chasing one last shot at glory, and he wants the Celtics to give it to him?  I get it, but I'd pass.

Andy Bernard doesnt lose constests. He wins them, or he quits them because they're unfair.

I'm glad to see a Laker come here to contribute; the pipe line generally flows in the other direction.  (Here's looking at you, Rick Fox and Brian Shaw.)

I guess we got Gary Payton from the Lakers, right?  That worked out marginally well.

I don't like Shaq. But it's not because he was a Laker.

And I can't hold it against someone for playing on a team I hate. If that was the case I'd have to hate Paul Pierce for playing under Roy Williams.

Once they are one of our guys I find it very hard to root against them.  I am a Celtic fan.  I just don't want any quitters like LeBron.

Have you seen Kendrick Perkins play on offense? His man only has to leave the lane to avoid defensive 3 seconds.

Color me tickled pink...err.. I mean green.

Shaquille O' Neal in a Celtics uniform, never thought I'd see the day. Yes he's older and lost a step and in the final two years of his career.

But seeing him in our uniform makes it all worth it to me. Sports is suppose to be fun right? Well, this is fun!

"I would have preferred Kwame Brown"

So you would rather lose with bums than win with legends?

Well, our smothering defense was beat by our own anemic offense.

We also were done in by our lack of a quality bench, which led to gassed starters by the end of a long playoff run and poor playoff seeding.

Shaq should help this team more than he can hurt it. Besides, Perk should be back for the playoffs should Shaq be as horrific on defense as you claim he will be.
