I'm glad they're not playing in Boston on Christmas.

me too. That would mean I would have to go to the game if it where in boston, and somehow explain to my wife why that is more important than spending christmas with the in-laws
Well.....isn't it?  ;D

It's going to be a great game.

If I had to put money down I'd roll with the heat, though.

I seem to remember people saying the same thing last year about opening night in Cleveland because the Cavs had landed Shaq and almost never lost there the year before.

How did that work out again? That's right, Boston 95, Cleveland 89.

From realgm about Christmas Day Games

Quote
It's been CONFIRMED.

Celtics@Magic

Heat@Laker

Cmon, again Magic...

Yeah, cuz the Xmas game last year was just so exciting...did they even combine for 150 points?

You won't hear Doc complaining though, 2nd straight year he can spend Christmas at home.

Unless the Heat play the C's on the 26th then the Magic on the 28th?

Yeah I think thats what it might end up being. Heat will play us on opening night, and then against Magic on 28th to open up their new arena.

No WAY The Heat lose their first game of the season. After all the hype? You're dreaming. Wade won't let that happen, Riley won't let that happen and most importantly Stern won't let that happen...

I predict a fourth quarter collapse by the Celtics for a 4 point loss. Expect Bosh to have a big game  with Wade and Lebron taking over late.

You can also expect Bennett Salvatore to be on the crew that night.

Great, our C's are totally screwed then. Maybe Stern will team up Salvatore with Crawford to really stick it to the Celts and make sure his poster boy Lebron wins his first game with his new super friends or whatever those clowns call themselves.

I really, REALLY, hope we beat them on opening night.
I believe in God, Family, and The RED SOX!

I bet these tickets will go for significantly more than Game 5 of the Finals last year went for.

We wouldn't have it any other way. Let's see what you got, pansies.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

I hope the celtics turn that game into a streetfight. I want a physical beatdown. The heat have no enforcers. Anyone coming down that lane needs to pay a price. The no layup rule needs to applied from game 1 of the regualr season. I can't wait.

Haha - If we do in fact end up signing The Big Shamrock, I cannot wait for our first game vs MIA - Shaq VS Bosh...the same man that Shaq compared to RuPaul a few seasons ago ;D.

The Garden always hosts either the Ice Capades or the Circus the week of Christmas so it is fairly rare that the Celtics are home on Christmas Day unless Christmas Day is either on a Saturday or Sunday.

Didn't know that Nick, thanks.

I would just love - just one time - to see Boston host LA or ORL before this Big Three ride off into the sunset, though. We only have maybe 1 more year together with this group.
I remember seeing the stat one of the last two Christmas games and if I recall correctly, the Celts have NEVER played at home on Christmas.  I think overall they have played something like 27 games on Christmas day and none at home.  I even seem to remember the Celts playing one Christmas game at a neutral site.
