I don't see many options for Sheed's contract at the moment.
Packaging it with a second-rounder to a team with cap space, thereby creating a trade exception, is always an option.

Great point and as far as I know you can split the trade exception along with a player in a deal.   The Cavs have that cap space it appears so there could be some negotiating going on.  I believe you could do a sign and trade for example signing Shaq for 3 mil and getting 3 mil trade exception for Sheed's contract and a second rounder.

Only if we could do a sign and trade with Cleveland that would land us Shaq + another asset for Sheed's contract. This would mean only a token more than the Min. for Shaq. Of course he is likely to insist on the bulk of Sheed's contract so don't see it happening unless with can create a package deal.

that is a very intriguing idea. That way the C's could hold onto a decent exception (2-3 million) until someone becomes available during the season. And they still get Shaq.

Shaq needs to stop fooling around and sign with us.  He knows good and well no other team is a better fit.  Bite the bullet, big fella.
