Love the common sports journalist absolutly love them.

I imagin it happening like this!

Person X: I heared a rumor about Ray Allen being traded to the Trailblazers
Sports Guy: Really? whats your sources?
Person X: Multiple sources involved in the process
Sports Guy Thinks: That there is propper NBA hidden mumbo jumbo talk, bloddy hell must be real then
Sports Guy: Yes, i allways thought of that as being a clear option, im going to run it tonight
16year old intern: ehm.. sir? Ray Allen cant be traded until the 16th of....
Sports Guy: Shhh.. grown ups are talking! stay quiet, remember your talking to someone who actualy saw Magic Johnson play back in my day, thus all your objections and arguements are invalid.

Sports Guy (walking away): Im a bloddy genius!

Just how can you be that stupid to bring a story about a trade that have such a statistical minute chance of happening 4 months from now and that man is paid to do it, not only is he propper nutter, but bloddy stupid to boot.

Absolutly love it, its fruit cakes like that, that makes the offseason worthwhile.

Ill summerize with this:

"Leadership is diving for a loose ball, getting the crowd involved, getting other players involved. It`s being able to take it as well as dish it out. That`s the only way you`re going to get respect from the players"

- Larry Bird

Portland's depth in the backcourt has limited the opportunities for the 25-year-old to showcase his all-around game, which is in part why he's looking to take his game elsewhere with Boston reportedly one of his preferred destinations.

"The thing about it, anybody in the league can use him," McMillan said. "He's a good player. He's a rotational player. For some teams, he's going to be able to start. For some teams, he's going to have to come off the bench. If he goes to Boston, he's probably coming off the bench behind one of those guys, Ray Allen or Paul Pierce. So it just depends on where he goes as far as his role and how he would play. But his talent, there are a lot of teams that can use him and take advantage of what he does. But we'll see what happens."

I think it's a good sign that their coach mentions Boston by name.

Indeed.  I had kind of put the idea of Rudy off because it seemed to have cooled down but I'd still love him.

Danny has been patient this offseason, perhaps he's just waiting the Blazers out?  They are looking for a better offer but it might not be there.

I think they are trying to convince him to stay, but from some other reports it sounds like it's not working and Rudy will indeed bolt to europe if he doesn't go to a team that will give him some minutes and fit his playing style. It sounds like he had some serious difficulties fitting in with the blazers:

Rudy Fernandez: "If I could return to Europe I'd be thrilled. But, at the same time, if I could decide my future and some NBA team could assure me some minutes and the team played a way that fits my game, then I'd like to continue playing in the States. Right now it's 50-50." Marca.com

Rudy Fernandez: "It's more like we're trying to talk with (the Blazers) and make them understand my position. And let's make clear I understand theirs too. We have to come to an agreement and find a way out as soon as possible. I made a great effort going to the States, making less money that I would in Europe. This season, I decided with my agents that the best thing was to try to get traded so I could be on another team with more playing time." Marca.com

Word is you were almost depressed. Rudy Fernandez: "Not to the point of being depressed, but I've been pretty Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ed up psychologically . I didn't feel comfortable on the court and sometimes I preferred to stay on the bench. I didn't feel capable of helping the team and that's very tough to handle for any player." Marca.com

Well, here's Portland coach Nate McMillan ready to splash some cold water in the face of Celtic Nation who would love to see Fernandez donning the Green and White soon. "He's a good fit for us. My focus is that he will be back, and how to use him when he comes back," McMillan, an assistant coach on Team USA, told CSNNE.com on Wednesday. "If that doesn't work out, we'll see what happens. He's still a Blazer right now." NECN.com

I think that the Boston is basically the only team left that can give the Blazers what they want, a first round pick, for Rudy.

Chicago has filled out with other SGs, as have NY from what I can tell, and so have the Celtics. I think everyone is waiting it out and the Blazers would prefer the C's because they're able to give a pick sooner.

I'd love to see Rudy play for D'Antoni in New York. That would be a fun fit.

I'm not sure what the Knicks have to offer, they're pretty tapped out when it comes to assets. They obviously won't be taking any long term salary back either.

But you're right he'd be an excellent fit for that team.

Right -- no picks. They're not sending Chandler out. Doubt Bill Walker gets it done -- they'd rather have a 1st from Boston. Toney Douglas isn't a fit.
