Our needs are apparent.  Another wing (one that can shoot) and another big. Are options are limited but still have several.

My best guess is filling the need for our bigs we'll either end up with

A) Shaq (don't know how but just some way I doubt for the minimum though)

B) Josh Boone- UConn kid, vet minimum guy and has a history with Lawrence Frank

C) Kwame Brown comes off his high horse and takes the minimum

For me B is the most likely option and A is the one with the most potential to give the team a big lift.  Not crazy about C but it could happen.

For Wings I believe its too much of a logistics issue for Sheed's contract to be on the roster when training camp comes, so unless Danny moves it and gets the trade exception he looks for a trade will happen involving Sheed's contract before the season starts.  Which leaves us with a few options

A) Josh Howard-seems unlikely at this point but who knows?
B  Shane  Battier- same as above
C) Rudy Fernandez-doesn't make enough to equal value of Sheed's contract but trading him with Pryzbilla could kill two birds with one stone, still don't see why Portland does this
D) Some other trade we haven't even thought of yet.

As far as this scenario goes I have no guess whatsoever.  No idea, I'll leave that for the guys who get paid to conjure that up in the front office.

One other scenario is us signing a waived player or one of the remaining free agents for the minimum but I find it unlikely that we find a player under those circumstances who can be our third wing (yes I know T-Mac and soon Delonte West are available) but that is a possibility at this point too.

Best scenario for me:  Battier in a trade for Sheed's contract and Shaq at the minimum (with built in performance bonuses)  A close second is Rudy and Pryzbilla for  Sheed.

I guess the worst would be the roster stays as it is going into the season.

I would definitely like Boone for the minimum, the kid will hustle when he plays.

I think the clear answer is that Celtic fans need to be more patient and realize it is only the end of July not the middle of October. Still work to be done and Danny needs teams to make assessments and then a trade market will open up for Rasheed's contract and things will get done. Patience. Wait and see.

I really hope Ainge is looking for players that not only fill the current needs (a shooter and another big man) but also have some longer-term potential as well.  In other words, just adding older vets is not enough, IMO.  The roster needs to get some youth as well.  In that respect, I really like Rudy Feranadez and Josh Boone.  Both are young and could develope further.  Of course, getting Shane Battier or Josh Howard would be preferred.  Howard would be ideal becasue he's still young.  That would leave a "non-Big 3" core of:
Rondo, Perk, Baby, Howard, Daniels  --- not bad.

No interest in Josh Boone. He is a major defensive + offensive liability.

His quality rebounding fails to make up for his negatives defensively + offensively.

Josh Boone does not offer the Celtics an upgrade over Erden + Harangody.

I think that in the end we will end up getting Josh Howard and Shaq for Sheed's plus Laffayette, Gaffney a second and cash.

This way we can give both Howard and Shaq around 4 to 5 million.

Our roster would look like
1-Rondo,Nate, Bradley
2-Ray,Quis,
3-Paul,Howard
4-KG,Baby,Gody
5-Jermaine, Shaq, Perk, Erden

Then we have one spot left which could be filled by Scal, Delonte a vet free agent like Roger Mason or Gaffney after he is cut.

I'm happy with that team.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Yes, I would be thrilled too, but both Howard and Shaq seem like long shots based on the Celtics being handcuffed by the finances.  Howard in particular is intriguing because he's still fairly young.

I don't like him either, but in his behalf, he is a member of the prestigious all-ugly team.
Howard or Fernandez would be ideal, and maybe Shaq if he wants to face the reality of his role and worth.
