Why? because Lebron wants to look like less of a slimeball and coward by saying "see? everybody else is doing it."

He really sucks. And it turns out Chris Paul kind of sucks, too.

LeBron is a coward for Chris Paul demanding a trade. That makes sense.

Secondly, Chris Paul is one in a long line of superstars who have, at some point, threatened or demanded a trade. Kobe Bryant is among them. Pierce would've been on the list pre-Big Three.

Dude, <3 ur voice of reason :)))))))

Lebron is a little female dog because he went to Miami to be Dwayne Wade's female dog. After receiving massive backlash, Lebron is now doing his best to make what he did not a unique event, but a trend -- starting with Chris Paul. By turning his cowardly, selfish and spectacle-ridden departure into something commonplace, he hopes to deflect some of the derision heaped upon him onto other players. In other words, he is trying to manipulate Paul for his own selfish purposes. That makes him both a coward, and a manipulative scum bag with only his own best interest in mind. Hence my vitriol.

So, yeah, it does make sense. But sweet job completely oversimplifying what I said and being condescending. It doesn't make you look like an ass at all.

Chris Paul is making the right decision by asking to leave.

The Hornets are a train wreck with no idea of how to fix it.

He's not asking to leave he's demanding to leave there is a difference.

Paul has no leverage and right now should just be worrying about making the team that he is playing on right now better and not trying to get traded.  He got injured last season so he should be trying to have a bounce back year and to get his club to have a bounce back year.
The press release I saw was with a quote "My first choice is to be in New Orleans,'' Paul said then, in a telephone interview from London. "I just want to make sure we're committed to winning. If we're not committed to winning and trying to get better so we can contend with the Lakers, the Celtics and all these other top teams, then I'm open to being traded.''

When did that become a demand?

If Paul is traded, I hope we make the deal that brings us back Paul and Okafor or West. Give them Rondo, Sheed, Perk and the D-Leaguers.

If players are truly so passionate about winning, they should not have signed enormous max deals to begin with.  If these players are so desperate to win, they shoulda signed a deal for less money so his team could buy him help!  Or at least a deal for less years so he could have the option to opt out and sign a new contract if his team's situation isn't good!  I'm tired of hearing these players complain.  If you're signing a contract that's taking up 25% of your team's salary, then you should be prepared to deal with bearing the burden of carrying that team by yourself for as many years as you sign on for.  Joe Johnson should be prepared to provide 1/3 of his team's offense and defense.  If he can't he shouldn't have signed that deal, not he should demand a trade in 2 years.  Have some sense people.  I'm not going to sign a contract teaching in some awful school for $1,000,000 per year, then demand to be traded to a nice private school and be paid the same salary.  You get what you sign up for.

Chris Paul, if you can't carry a team by yourself and provide 25% of your team's offense and defense, then don't sign for max money.  You've got a very good PF on your team with you.  You've got a wing who was the key 6th man for a championship team 2 years back.  You've got a C who is overpaid but has averaged a double double over his career.  You've got another wing who used to be a stud, and is on the decline, but can still shoot 3's and his contract is up this season so you can get another player.  If you can't deal with that, then you shouldn't sign for max money.

No, it's Chris Paul's job to be an all-NBA PG and play at the level of a best or second best player on a championship squad. If management is incapable of providing him the support to win a championship then he should ask to leave.

CP3 needs to grow up - its one thing to leave a team during free agency but he's got 2 more years left on the extension he chose to sign.

They've got a new GM and coach in place, show them some respect by at least giving them a chance to do their jobs.

Second best player on a championship squad??  At max money??  Max money is approx. 25% of a team's cap.  So, the best player on his team should also be a max player.  Now you have 1/2 the cap (approx 30 mil) paid to 2 players and another 28-30 mil to spread out between 10 more.

If Chris Paul (and these other alleged max contract players) want max money, they should be able to carry a team with David West and other very good role players (like Peja was 2 yrs ago).  If Peja is getting a little old and expensive, then wait one [dang] year until he's off the books and you can get a new player.  Is that so bad?  One year?

p.s. Regarding my first paragraph, I understand that there are ways to circumvent the cap and have multiple max contracts there (i.e. Boston).  But that doesn't mean it's always easy to do and you can't just go sign them in FA.
