Ok Now that we got JO,Nate, and Marquis daniels back. I think we should go out and sign a pure shooter someone like Rodger Mason JR. Would fit in nicley with the 2nd unit. And be probably a cheap signing. So If we can do that and talk Sheed into returing that would be perhaps the best bench in the league. Of course with Daniels and everyone being healthy for that matter.. But if we can get Mason and get Rasheed to give it one more run I think we could be in for a very good season.
If sheed does not return the trade him for someone like Rodger mason. Someone who is strictly a two guard and a pure shooter.

But with what I have said our 2nd unit would look like this

Nate
Mason
Daniels
BBD
Sheed

That is a very good mix of players.

I think a full year of (healthy) Marquis and Nate Robinson could really be a surprise for some.  Prior to injury Marquis was our best bench player.  He can defend very well and brings serious iq and team play to the 2nd unit.  If Nate can be controlled and can play off Daniels like eddie was they are going to be a great combination.  More Nate at pg/sg means more pressure, let Rondo play d all out if nate is there and helping he knows he can sit on bench, rest and not hurt team.
I feel with Marquis signed we don't have to dump 'Sheed's retiring contract on anyone, might be worth it to let him pull a PJ and come back 1/2 way through the season.
x factor is if any of the newbies can help us for 5-10 minutes at their respected posistions (only 1 needs to step up)

Yup, and I've always felt you need eight starters. My rule-of-thumb for the playoffs is 1-3-8:
1 superstar
3 all-stars
8 starters (or at least could be starters somewhere)

This team has that now and then some, once Perk gets back.

  • You say when......
I will be very surprised if marquis can bring anything......His D was......i don't remember seeing him shut anyone down...his scoring..not near the slasher TA was, not as much jump/dunk as TA....and what are you going to say when he runs into someone again..concussion..just bumping into gortat....how strange was that....? I think he is weak, has no fortitude.... He needs to eat some wheaties..!

I will admit I was hoping we wouldn't go down this route and re-sign Quis after the end of the season, but seeing as how we don't have much money and there were alot of teams pouring money at average players, I feel like we caught a break. He was a decent contributor when he was healthy, and I feel like our bench is slowly getting better than it was last year.

Nate-PG, Quis-SG/SF, (maybe Bradley some minutes as)-PG/SG, BBD-4, O Neal-5

If Bradley or Harangody steps up we'll be solid. Although I really think we need a shooter to help in the scoring department, I wouldn't mind a Von Wafer or Jarvis Hayes at all.

Who's the superstar? Don't tell me Rondo because he's not there yet.

If we could sign shaq and sheed decided to come back with very limited reg season minutes we'd have
KG
JO
Perk
Shaq
Sheed
BBD
semi-pro Urden

Thats like 48 feet of length :P

This could be a really good team i'm actually super excited to be on teh blog tonight
Andy Bernard doesnt lose constests. He wins them, or he quits them because they're unfair.

You guys still keep saying "when perk gets back"  try to realize that he prob won't be back..not at all for next year. That was a really bad tear 3x..on a very large body..not like wes welker 5'8"....more weight, more strain, more time.....I think he will NOT be back all year.
