This guy is really, really old. Hopefully, he won't help them out too much.

Oooh, that is a nice signing.

Not good enough to be a rotation player anymore but Ratliff is a very good deep reserve. Solid defender. Experienced. Serviceable (below average) rebounder. Plays within his limitations offensively.

He played well last season for San Antonio and Charlotte.

[dang] it this is a good signing for the Fakers. He will likely be the 9th or 10th guy off the bench, but he is a solid rebounder and shot blocker. Arrrghh, the Fakers are just getting better unfortunately.  :(

Why didnt we pick up someone like him on the cheap? Are we really relying on just Perk and JO

I don't understand why we suck so much rump at signing players and the lakers [freaking] mop the floor with us every off-season.

Yes I'm aware of the 2008 off-season.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

I don't mind this if it means that we can still get Kurt Thomas, who I consider to be a better player.

Weather probably has something to do with it.

I'm starting to get concerned that, in focusing on "value" so much and fear of overpaying, that the C's might develop a reputation for being cheap.

I agree to some extent.  But right now JO is really the only healthy center on this team.  Kurt can play the 5, but he's a bit undersized.  I don't know how I feel about a 4/5 backup line of BBD and Kurt.  I could live with it, but in some ways Ratliff might've been better.

The Lakers have put together a very good off-season.  That's disappointing, to say the least.  Blake and Barnes will help them, and Theo can add something in short minutes.

David Ebanks too ... I think he's their best reserve wing player.

Very athletic + talented defender/rebounder with a solid handle and rudimentary offensive skills. Brings some much needed athleticism to their perimeter players.

David Ebanks? lol Who.  You must not watch a lot of college basketball.  I know of a Devin Ebanks and he is pretty good and maybe their best wing, even though I think Barnes is and will be their best wing by far.  Ebanks though is a solid younger player and draft pick, but we have to remember he is a rookie and we don't know how his game will translate to the pros yet and how much run Phil Jackson will give him.

I'm sorry I shouldn't have been a jerk over a name spelling TP I just thought it was kind of funny lol.

None the less the Lakers have had a [dang] good off-season with the Blake, Barnes, Ratliff signings and had two excellent draft picks IMO in Ebanks and Derrick Caracter.
