Tyronn Lue is seeking a comeback to the NBA...

http://nba.fanhouse.com/2010/07/16/boston-aide-tyronn-lue-seeks-return-to-court/

Quote
Lue, 33, was an NBA point guard for 11 seasons before not getting any guaranteed offers last season and then failing to make the Celtics. So he took a job working with the team's young players.

But now Lue wants back on the court. The free agent said in an interview with FanHouse at the NBA Summer League he's open for offers.

"I want to come back because my body feels good,'' said Lue, who has career averages of 8.5 points and 3.1 assists and last played for Orlando in 2008-09. "I'm a little out of shape, but I'm working out.''

Lue said he's had "a couple'' of feelers from NBA teams. But he wouldn't name them.

could this mean that he might fill the Cs backup pg spot next year?

If he couldn't get a contract last year, don't see it happening this year with the Celtics.

Seriously.  We stuck with Lester Hudson over him?  And then Lafayette?
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Isn't Nate Robinson already filling the backup PG spot?

I suppose he could be the third string PG, but at that point, I imagine Doc would likely just let Ray or Paul bring the ball up.

Yet another reason, though, that bringing back Marquis is a good idea: it steadies the wing spot and gives us a third string PG.

Ty Lue?

Are the C's this desperate?  If that's the case, why not try Dana Barros?

Lue is only 33...The Celtics obviously brought him in last year as possible point guard insurance. He did not seem in shape enough to actually play for the Celtics last year...but he has proven experience. If he could somehow show he can get back into shape, I don't think it's the worst idea. Either way, it wouldn't be a bad idea to get a true proven point guard to backup Rondo. It's vital that RR gets rest next year.

He sat on the bench all last year... I dont think we are very interested in having him become a back up PG, especially when we already have Nate.

I do believe the article says Lue wants to come back in the NBA. Nothing about the Celtics wanting him, and while there's a possibility that one of the "feelers" could be the Celtics, there's no guarantee.

If it's true Lue tried out for the C's and failed last season, I don't see how he can make the team now. I mean, using this logic, Penny Hardaway and Stephon Marbury's available too (and I bet none of you even remember Marbury saying he wanted to come back, but he did say he wanted to in what would be next season...)

Like wdleehi said, supposedly the Celtics took Hudson over this guy (albeit not for long) and considering Avery Bradley was signed in what I felt was a short time, they probably will take Bradley over him too. I think that's enough to say that Lue's probably looking elsewhere for a job, if he ever gets one.
