"We're going to be wearing a bullseye. But that's what you play for," Wade said. "We enjoy the bullseye. Plus, there's going to be times when we lose 2-3 games in a row, and it seems like the world has crashed down. You all are going to make it seem like the World Trade is coming down again, but it's not going to be nothing but a couple basketball games."

also, Michael Jordan to ESPN on twitter said that he would've never called Bird and Magic to form a superteam.

A slap to the face of the Miami Thrice?

Wasn't Wade saying that it is inappropriate to compare losing to such a disaster?

That's a jerk?

I didn't mind that really. I dunno how the WTC reference will play out, I would've probably avoided that, but personally I don't have a problem with it.

Jordan just went up a level in my book, and that's hard to do considering the level he already was at.

Wow, LeBron gets no love from Michael Jordan.  ;D

Still though, the city of Cleveland is no Chicago, if that makes any sense.

Maybe MJ is upset that LeBron didn't chose to come to the Bulls instead of the Miami Heat during his infamous decision.

I wonder what MJ's reaction to all of that was. I mean, there's no way that Michael Jordan wouldn't want to see another multiple league MVP try to build upon the legacy that he (Jordan) established in the city of Chicago; LeBron even announced that he was changing his number before the start of this season so there wouldn't even have been the issue of LeBron wearing the number that 'his air-ness' retired if he were to sign with the Bulls.

I'm thinking that the fact that LeBron kept everyone on edge w/ the whole 'Decision' hoopla might be part of the reason why MJ would say something like that but then again, I really have no idea. Maybe Michael Jordan dislikes LeBron James? Of course I'm just joking, but still....  :P

I bet all the old school NBA vets are frowning and looking down upon Bosh, Wade, and James...

MJ is right. Bird, Magic, and MJ never would have joined together and played on the same team. On the court they hated each other, wanted to be the best, and beat the crap out of each other the best they could. The wanted it to be their show and their legacy, they didnt want to join forces together...

Eh, what about Chamberlain, Baylor, and West?

I think it's kinda different, especially since Bird and Magic had so much help.  I personally don't consider Wade one of the top 3 players in the NBA, probably not top 5 (would have to really think about it), and Bosh is definitely not top 10.  It's not like LeBron and Kobe and Dwight are joining forces (1, 2, and 3 overall in my opinion).  This is similar talent to Magic/Kareem/Worthy or Bird/McHale/Parish in today's NBA.  Obviously the pieces were brought together differently, but everyone needs help.

I bet if free agency was around  back then like it is today, you might have seen Oscar Robertson teaming up with Wilt to try and take down the Celtics or situations like that.  Actually fun to think about.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Chamberlain, Baylor and West were all career losers who couldn't beat the Celtics. Actually, sounds familiar.

Wade is top 5, Dwight is definitely not top 3. Those '80's dynasties were, as you said, put together very differently than what went on this month with Miami.

I am curious, who are your top five and top ten players?

Are you trying to say Wade is a top 3 player in the NBA?

Honestly, I probably think Wade is borderline top 5 (never really been a Wade fan I will admit, so maybe I'm biased).  Probably anywhere from 4-7.  Bosh is probably borderline top 15, but I think I would put him outside the top 15 (I think my rankings compare similarly to the All-NBA teams the last few years, where Wade is at the end of the first team, and Bosh is just left off the 3rd team - but that's not the basis for my rankings).  Don't have the time to run through the list right now, but if this thread is still active when I get back from work then I just might.

My whole point is, Wade, LeBron, and Bosh are not the top 3 players in the NBA.  I don't like the comparing to Larry, Magic, and Jordan.

Larry, Magic, Jordan = top 5 of their time at any season.

McHale/Kareem/Pippen = top 5-15

Parish/Worthy/Rodman = top 15-30

(not trying to argue about these rankings, they're just general to make a point, especially since I'm trying to summarize 15 or so NBA seasons and compare it to the current NBA season and do it in a few minutes).

LeBron = top 5
Wade = top 5-15
Bosh = top 15-30

I think it compares very similar.  I'm just saying LeBron/Wade/Bosh does not equal Larry/Magic/Jordan, they more closley equal Larry/McHale/Parish and Magic/Kareem/Worthy.

I was curious about where you ranked Wade + who you ranked ahead of Chris Bosh.

Edit: I got Wade in the #2 spot ... gonna to have to think some more on Bosh. A bevvy of players of comparable ability there. Could just as easily be #7 or #8 as #14 or #15.
