Pretty interesting article by Tyler Conway, grading all the teams on their off-season moves, (or lack thereof). How would you grade the C's? Other teams? (Celtic's section below, rest are at link provided).

CELTICS:

Key Offseason Acquisitions: Paul Pierce (re-signed), Ray Allen (re-signed), Jermaine O'Neal, Avery Bradley

Key Offseason Losses: Rasheed Wallace, Tony Allen

Boston's version of the "Big Three" brought the band back together for one last run at a championship this offseason.

It's really too bad they did so before Miami created its "Big Three."

While still an elite team, it's tough to imagine the Celtics defeating a loaded Miami Heat squad over a seven-game series.

Regardless of whether Boston will defeat the "Miami Thrice," their offseason moves put the team in a place to have a chance—a statement which cannot be made about many other teams.

Also, I absolutely loved the pick of Texas guard Avery Bradley. He can step in right away and create a spark that was often lacking in the Celtics' offense.

Good offseason for Danny Ainge, but I have serious doubts regarding whether it was good enough.

Grade: B

I'll give the C's an I for incomplete, but for their midterm grade a B - to B right at that 82-83 range.  This could change depending on where Matt Barnes signs today also.

I am going to say the same thing I said a couple days ago when someone on this site wanted to grade the C's...it is a week into the free agency period (at least the official signing period).  It is way too early to grade an offseason.  Ask me in October, then I will give them a grade.

I got them at C+ so far after taking the advice of Chris yesterday.  When the season starts they will get a complete grade from me.

I find interesting when juxtaposing outsiders ratings with the C's transactions too fans of the C's...

That's how I feel too, but what about a mid-term grade?

I agree that it's too early to apply a grade for the entire off-season, however, the question was "so far", and in reference to the article from BR.

Well, its more like quarter term, but I would give them an A-.  They locked up the core, and found a Sheed replacement, which were the number 1 and 2 priorities.  They haven't addressed the backup wing spots yet though, so that part is still yet to be done.  So far, the only negative has been not resigning Tony...and that is negligible at best, if Danny can find an upgrade.

If they can add either Fernandez (preference) or Josh Howard, I'd give it an A

A strong Forward is the hinge-point now ... how many tricks does Danny have up his sleeve?!?

So far I would say B. But it will be an A if the backup wings problem is gonna be settled properly. Besedis Tony leaving, I like how this off-season is turning up.

I'd say they did well so far, so a B is good.  But as others have said, this is kind of like a professor grading your rough draft two weeks before the final paper is due as the final copy.
