If Barnes goes to Miami and Brewer to Chicago, would you take Luther Head as a our backup 2? Personally, I am hoping Barnes drops tomorrow and then we get Brewer or Howard as the other backup wing.

Then we need to re-sign Nate and find another Big. Pierce was right, there is still a ton of work to be done. It could happen quickly, or it may take a couple of more weeks to shake out.

He was offered a contract by New Orleans earlier this week, only to have it rescinded just yesterday, under the pretense that he failed the physical.

Soap opera in NO. Former GM Bower offered the contract before he left, and the new regime is reneging on the deal.

The Hornets are actually a great candidate IMO to send Sheeds contract to generate our trade excpetion or just take back a couple of pieces from their roster. Not sure who we can get worthwhile, but they are cash strapped that much is obvious.

Wouldnt mind Luther Head, but not with Nate and Bradley. That seems redundant for some reason as Head is not a wing type player. He is definitely not a defensive asset IMO,

Hornets are over the cap, so no way to generate a TE with them.

FWIW, Celtics could get back Songaila (a decent journeyman big) and Wright (a young SF) in exchange for Sheed's contract. NO would reap more than $7.5 million in payroll savings once Sheed retired.

Both Songaila and Wright are in the final years of their current contracts (Wright has a QO for next year at just under $4 mil).

I'd make that deal in a heartbeat. Possibly throw in a 1st round pick as well.

I think Songalia and Julian Wright for Sheed's deal would be a great deal. We get a young wing with upside and a guy that can be our 4th big until Perk gets back and lessen the wear and tear on KG's knees.

Definitely worth a future first thrown in and take back a future second from them. Wright would be a nice pickup, very athletic and lots of talent. Songaila is a great effort guy and better than Scal or Shelden were so that is an upgrade.

I'd rather have Luther Head than:

Fat
Big
Block or
Knuckle
We all think we know more than we really do....

disagree.  I wouldn't treat 1st round picks as throw-ins for any deals for what amounts to acquiring journeymen players.  Also consider Danny's best skill is drafting so I would not take away his best tool for adding to the team.  On top of that, with the way NO is looking to shed salary, Sheed's contract should be plenty.

Can he play defense?

He is another undersized player playing out of position because he cant play point guard. We need a big, long, athletic wing, Head doesnt fit that mold.
