Is Richard Jefferson a possibility?

Now that we're scraping close to the bottom of the FA pool and we've resorted to signing guys who were in their primes 5 years ago, can we acquire Jefferson some how? or would we even want to? He used to kill the C's when he was in NJ, not sure if he'd be a good fit here, but he still shoots the ball well. If it's a two year deal type of situation, why not?

Not to sound negative or anything, but I really don't think we are going to get much luck with the free agents.

Most of them are looking for contracts that pay good money, and the only thing we have to offer is the vet min.

Even if RJ came at the veteran's min I'd prefer to have Michael Finley.

RJ doesn't have the same athleticism anymore, and if he's strictly going to be a shooter off the bench there are better options than him.

Well you can't S&T players signed with the MLE, so it would have to come from a team under the cap already. What incentive is there for them to work with the C's for an expiring contract? Not interested in giving up a lot of cash and/or picks in addition to 'Sheed's contract.

And Finley does have the same athleticism?

RJ is another example of a player who underperformed last year compared to his salary leading people to overrate his decline. He could be one of the best bargains in the league if we signed him for a minimum deal. Finley is nowhere near as good a player as RJ at this point. The difference is Finley would actually sign for the vet min. RJ won't.

He may be lucky if he gets a 3 yr/$15 million deal.
