I think Auburn stumbles in the Iron Bowl
and we'll see an Oregon-TCU National Title Game.

Well, I'm liking one half of this prediction right now.    8)

You're punching below the belt now.

Just for fun, what if Oregon falls to Arizona?  Would it be disastrous to have a TCU/BSU championship game?

Just curious.  I have adopted BSU as my team, and think they deserve to be in the championship game.  But I think it would be a huge disappointment if the two mid majors play each other, rather than get to prove themselves against the big boys.
That's a good point, however that is exactly what the big boys have been doing for a long time now...locking others out to produce totally unsatisfying results

BTW, can anyone explain to me how Oregon has been ranked above Auburn?  Looking at their schedule, I think Oregon's is closer to BSU and TCU than Auburn's, which is a killer schedule.  So, if strength of schedule is so important, shouldn't Auburn have been #1?

True.  And perhaps if you have two mid majors in the championship game it will motivate those from the bigger conferences, who feel so strongly that those teams are not on the same level, to get a real playoff going.  Because currently, they are way too comfortable, knowing that only a handful of conferences have a legitimate shot at a championship.

I don't think it would be disasterous.  It would be the ultimate irony for the BCS, though.  Having 2 non-BCS teams viaing for the national title in the "BCS National Championship Game"

I'm much rather see an Oregon-TCU or Oregon-Boise State national title game.  See one of the big boys playing against one of the non-BCS teams.  I hated the whole BSU-TCU thing last year because never got to prove themselves to me.  I don't want a repeat of that even if this time, it's the national title game.

I prefer to see TCU in the national title game but its looking like Boise State will eventually leap TCU in the BCS standings.

I actually think they'd be more likely to start scheduling better teams, instead of 1AA and MAC and Sun Belt teams. It would result in more losses but also better strength of schedule.

I also still think it's more likely for a one loss Auburn or whoever to get in the game than mid majors, but we shall see.

The NCAA is out of their minds on this mid major thing. They should look at what Butler did and even Indiana St in the Larry Bird days

Oregon has been extremely impressive against a pretty decent PAC-10, imo.  Besides the CAL game, they've been steamrolling folks.  I also think that Oregon's win over Stanford is better than any quality win that Auburn has put up.  Stanford is arguably a top 5 team.

Boise St. just missed a 29 yard FG in OT.

Nevada just needs a FG to win the game now.

A kicker can be the biggest hero, or the biggest loser ... it's a shame to place such blame on the shoulders of one player, but to miss such easy kicks in the most important game of your life, (and the lives of your team-mates), is just such a shame. Truly unbelievable game.

You are underestimating the Pac-10, and need to take into consideration the complete and utter blowouts.

Yeah, they're the best team in college football.  Their defense is suspect but their offense is nearly unstoppable and have compensated for that weakness.

Part of the reason I wanted to see an Oregon-TCU game was to see the Horned Frogs defense on that Duck offense.   However, the only way it'll happen is if Auburn slips up in Atlanta next week.
