On Minnesota's RealGM board, it's been said that Koufos' agent has been informed that Minnesota will look to move him to a team that has need of his services:

Koufos is still on a rookie contract, with a team option for next year. His salary for this coming season is just over $1.2 million, meaning he could be traded for Lafayette and/or Gaffney, I believe.

Anyone follow him since he was drafted out of Ohio State? Legit 7 footer, strong. Could be a decent 3rd stringer. Higher ceiling than Erden?

Koufos would be a very nice low risk cost effective project to have on the end of your bench.

In comparison to Erden, Koufos is a bigger body + is younger + is a much better rebounder. I also think he is more skilled away from the hoop but not as intelligent in his cuts or finishing around the rim.

Due to his age, I think there's still a very good chance for Koufos to improve considerably ... especially if he got to work with someone like Clifford Ray.

I also remembering reading that Koufos was a gym rat while he was with the Jazz.

A very hard worker. Someone who wants to improve and is willing to put the work in.

That's great, but from all I've seen he just isn't NBA material.

If thats the case expect him to go to the thunder. He can join Mullens there.

As a Buckeye fan living in Ohio, I can tell you Kosta was no where near ready for the NBA when he left OSU after his first year.  He was easily muscled out of the paint and was a terrible defender.  He had a pretty solid outside stroke, but that was about all he could do.

It has been a few years so I'm sure he is much stronger and has worked on his deficiencies, but he had a long way to go and it is tough to get there when you don't get any game action.

I believe he played fairly well during the play-offs, replacing the injured Okur.

----Never mind. It wasn't him.
