Don't know what the offer he got there was but I really though Shelden fit in well with this team and played well early on in the season

It feels/seems the only thing folks remember is his poor play in the finals.

I thought he'd be good Baby Insurance -- since i think BBD might want more money than he's worth next year.

Good luck shelden!

A league source told ESPN.com's John Hollinger that the team has agreed to terms with forward Shelden Williams and guard Anthony Carter and is expected to sign both later in the day. Both deals would be for the league's veteran minimum salary.

At some point this season i think we will rue not paying Shelden just a bit more than the minimum..... i hope i'm wrong, but (a) we've seen what not having enough bigs means and (b) i hope ainge isn't relying again on a midseason waiver wire (PJ brown, marbury, etc)... that's gonna not work someday (i.e. this year players may be less willing to accept a buyout with the lockout looming).

More then the min?   I don't think so.  He is a 6th big man.  He can be replaced.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
Maybe the thinner air will help him...good riddance.  At least he gave us a month worth of decent basketball, but if I were him I'd go into boxing as my new vocation.

Glad he's not going to be a Celtic, but I do wish him well.

I liked SWilliams game.  I think he did great and was a victim of the numbers game.  I thought he was under-utilized by Doc, escpecially with our lack of rebounding against the Lakers.  Doc didn't getting ready during the regular season...and the results were obvious....

Too bad, because we are still short a big and way short on the wings

His couple of playoff appearances weren't strong, but there was a time early in the season where we were talking about him beating out Baby as our 4th big.  So I wouldn't say he's a complete waste.

Good luck to him.

Some of us have short memories here.

Sure, he struggled in the Finals but had some good runs during the regular season. With a few more years in the league and a solid jumpshot, he could be a solid role player on a playoff team.

Good luck Sheldon.

I just really didn't care if he resign for the min or not.  He can be replaced.
