Adam Morrison?

Seriously?

I know beggars can't be choosers, but am sure we still can do better than that.

someone will probably offer him 5 or 6 mil, but if they don't and he's willing to sign a one year for 3 or 4 what's the harm at giving a no3 pick a chance to turn it around.

I seriously doubt he would be anything beyond a vet min depth signing, if it were to happen.

IMO DA is looking to trade Sheed's contract for a wing/6th man and potentially picking up Morrison may be a no risk potential reward insurance policy.

Figure as the 12th or 13th man the kid learn to play some defense in the system and take on a role as a guy that won't kill you on defense and stretch the floor.  Ala Finley except without the turnstyle D.

Worst case scenario he ends up as your 4/5th wing and spends most of the season in street clothes.

I would expect Danny to take one or possibly two chances with guys who are cheap who might turn into usable commodities at some point down the line.

Would prefer if he would look at someone who can actually guard NBA players, but Morrison I guess is in the 'you can get him for nothin' category.

Ok you won me over, I guess he would be alright in scals role of 13th man on the roster.

I would imagine Danny's thinking is, maybe Ray can teach him to use screesns to get open, he was a pretty good shooter in college. Also he has never played with a PG as good as Rondo, so maybe he can become a JJ Redick player off the bench ? Doubt it though.

I would much rather sign Rasul Butler

But if he is our 13th man, that doesn't rule out that we still don't sign Butler and trade for Josh Howard.

Yes Adam, they'll cry because of your disappointment

I would rather have Scal. At least he knows our system and plays solid defense, and can be a "lock down defender" on Odom.

I’d pick him up. He’s worth the gamble.

Danny's known as someone who gives players a second chance. Maybe he sees something in Morrison that we don't. I remember a lot of people were raving about him during his draft year. There were even a few Larry Bird comparisons.

They are both white and from small colleges...comparison ended.

And no, even though Bird mustache did have some off days in the 80's it was still cooler then Morrison's.

Danny watched Morrison...and several other players...workout. Was he interested in Morrison? One of the other players? Or did he just have some free time and was doing a favor for an agent?

We don't know.

Personally, I doubt Danny is really interested in signing Adam Morrison, and him being at a workout where Morrison, among others, appeared doesn't change my mind.

3 to 4 mill is quite a bit of harm, esp considering the tax.

It is a bit disconcerting how little he was used by the Lakers. I guess they knew they had no interest in retaining him and were happy with him just being a body in practice.
