I have always loved that guy's game and think he would make a great player to replace what we have lost in the SG spot with Tony's departure.  The only difference would be Tony was a little better at D, but Rudy can cover the PG spot on O much much better (even though we now have the rook to be there).

I would love to see Danny get this guy, especially if it is for one of his magically cheap deals for us.

I feel everyone overrates this guy.  He was decent in his rookie year, but wasn't that good last year.  The hype is about what he did overseas, not in the NBA.

I'd rather have Battier or Ariza, players that can play defense on Wade, Lebron and Kobe.

I'm sure you would rather have Battier or Ariza they are better players. Which probably means they would take more to get. Fernandez is a young player that we could use to build around Rondo in a fast paced offense.
Too bad an article said the deal probably won't happen.

It's not appropriate to judge his body of work over the past couple of seasons as the true player. he couldn't be in a worse system -- the slowest in the NBA. rondo would do very good things for his game.
