It's summer league buddy.  Calm down.  If it wasn't for Perk's injury, he probably wouldn't see the light of day on the court.

So I guess if you wanna look at his injury in any positive way at all, you could say its a blessing in disguise for Harangody.  He will probably be given the opportunity to show his stuff in the regular season so he better take advantage of this chance.

But big al with a 3 point shot?  Sloooow down.  Lets see how he does against actual good individual and team defenses

Big Al with a 3 point shot is quite the stretch, but Big Baby with a 3 point shot may be a good comparison.  If he turns out to being a 35% 3 point shooter, I think you may see him take a lot of Davis' minutes.
do it

I got to be honest, I don't see this at all.  I'd like to, but I don't.  Harangody is 6'8" and a bruiser.  Al is 6'10" and  much more of a skill player, using more touch and finesse (for better or worse) who over his career is a 15 ppg 9 rpg player.  That is incredibly solid.  Any team would want that type of production from their center/ power forward.

Let's not forget Harangody was playing against some real scrubs in the summer league, which made Gerald Green look like a lock to be a perennial All Star.

And by the way, Harangody was only a 30.9 % 3 pt shooter in college, which, as you know, is an easier shot than the NBA 3.  His game is going to be much more like Glen Davis' than Al Jefferson's.  Yes, I saw him knock down some treys in the summer leage, but I'm not expecting that.  He will be able to hit some mid range jumpers and get real hustle points when he is on the floor.  I think he will be a productive player, a real gamer.

This kid is looking great, I hope Doc doesn't bench him like he benched Rondo in his rookie year.

He really didn't bench him.  The C's just acquired Telfair (a disaster).  Ainge probably wanted Doc to start Telfair, so he did until he couldn't stand it anymore.  Also Delonte was still taking minutes at the point too.  But even so, Rondo amassed 78 games played, 25 starts, and 23.5 minutes a game. He lead all rookies in steals and even finished the year sixth in minutes played compared to all rookies.

Anyway, with Perk down, Sheed retiring, and Sheldon getting out of town ASAP, the C's will need all the bodies they can get, so I bet Harangody gets a fair amount of time.

unless this bum is averaging 30 and 15... i'm highly skeptical he's anything more than a poor man's Brandon Hunter.

Granted it was the Summer League, but he did well and opened some eyes with his tough play.  Actually, I was impressed on his hustle and how well he played, even though the team gave up big leads, he played well and above expectations.

Harangody did well in SL and will, I believe, contribute nicely this year.

But  he's neither AlJeff nor Big Baby.  He may play more like BBD, but there's no way he can use his bulk to D up on Shaq and the other big centers in the league.

I think he's more like Gomes, but more quickly working on the transition to the 3 and more of a tough, go-getter player.  I think he'll ultimately be  more valuable than Gomes.

Big Al has some of the best post moves in the NBA (and possibly the very best).  That's something that Harangody isn't going to be able to match.  I do like what I've seen from him, though.  He's got the same knack for hustle that BBD does.

I don't see the comparison. Ryan Gomes, a tweener 3/4, that plays intelligent ball, hustles like all get go but is pretty limited physically? That comparison I get. Big Al? I don't see it. Al is a monster down low, has some of the best moves down low in the league, is a terrific rebounder and is big and long. That's not Harangody.

Maybe he means that Harangody plays matador D at the 4, 'cause that's what it looked like when Luke went up against Favors in SL.

Summer league, is not a great barometer of NBA career.  I am rooting for the guy and hoping we got a steal at that pick.  But I think the comparisons are a little premature.
