1) Bos trades Lafayette and Gaffney to Phoenix for Jared Dudley

2) Boston trades Rasheed Wallace to Minny for Ramon Sessions and Corey Brewer.

PG- Rondo/Sessions

SG-Ray/Brewer/Vet min

WF-Pierce/Dudley

PF-KG/Baby/Vet min(Shelden)

C-JO/Perk/Vet MIn.

Dudley is expendable witht he acquisition of Turk and Childress  Sessions and Brewer in a salary dump exchange.

we would have to include at some draft picks in both those deals
Pick 2 Heat:
Pg: Jennings/Vasquez
Sg: Wade/R. Allen/Rivers
SF: Lebron/M. Williams
PF: Bosh/Humphries
C: B. Lopez/Dalembert/Anthony

I'm down with this for sure. Although I haven't heard anything about Minnesota wanting to dump Brewer though.

Perfect crazy unlikely trade:

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2e7zqhe

Boston sends Sheed to TWolves, Davis to NY Bricks
Boston receives Brewer and Sessions from TWolves, Wilson Chandler from NY and Leon Powe from Cleveland

NY sends Chandler to Boston, Eddy Curry and Toney Douglas to Cleveland
NY receives Davis from Boston, Mo Williams from Cleveland

Cleveland sends Mo Williams to NY, Leon Powe to Boston
Cleveland receives Eddy Curry and Toney Douglas from NY

Minny sends Brewer and Sessions to Bos
Minny receives Sheed's contract from Bos

It could be made in a three way Bos/Cle/NY and a Bos/Minny, but I've put it all in one trade for entertaining purposes  :P

Why for Bos: they give Sheed's contract and a very good although limited Davis and receive almost a whole second unit with scorers (Chandler, Powe) and defense (Brewer) and a backup PG . Perfect for the Celtics.

Why for NY Bricks: they get a cheap good role player in Davis, and their starting PG to go alongside Amare and Gallinari, while they wait for the summer of 2012. A big rotation of Amare, Randolph and Davis would be huge for D'Antoni.

Why for Cleveland: they get a young PG in Douglas, and a big contract to play in the trade deadline, when some GMs will try to mend their offseason mistakes. They don't have any C in their roster, so Curry will have the chance to play and regain shape. With that flexibility, and the trade exception they got from the Lebron scape, they can rebuild.

Why for Minny: like Drucci said in another thread, they get rid of Sessions. And by the way, Wesley Johnson and Martell Webster won't leave a lot of playing time for Brewer. They'll be able to find a new home for Big Al with less pressure to cut their payroll.

and about Dudley... I'd rather get Rudy Fernandez for Gaffney and Lafayette. Then the C's would be able to mix Fernandez, Chandler and Brewer to rest Allen and Pierce.

To get Rudy they'd have to throw a 2nd round pick.

To get Powe and Chandler, another one.

To get Brewer and Sessions, possibly a future first round pick

I would do it. Yet Brewer, Powe and Chandler are expirings, so they could also be valuable trade chips at the deadline if things don't go well for the team.

I think any trade involving Session is off the table, as he has 3 years remaining.  Danny seems pretty adamant about preserving cap space.
Celtics fan for life.

You may be right, 2 years seems to be the limit. I don't know why the Trade Machine has him with 2 years left. In that case, they could trade Sheed's contract for an expiring similar contract. I'd still trade Davis for Powe and Wilson Chandler, and then Gaffney and Lafayette for Rudy Fernandez.

What is this supposed fascination with 2012? Am I missing something. Everyone on this board is under the 2012 spell.

Rondo and Pierce and that's it? You can get one max player and that's it. I personally wouldn't risk these next two seasons at the expense of the slight chance of getting a franchise player (different than a "max" player).

Our best chance to win a title is in the next two seasons. This team has proved they can do it. I want to go for it, all out. I'm not looking to give out a long contract for no reason, but if someone like Josh Howard wants 3 years/$15 million, you have to do it IMO.

The Lockout of 2011 has been virtually assured with the 3 Fiddlers of SFla nonsense. The free agency rules are going to be drastically different and limit the ability of player collusion to tip the balance of talent equity via free agency. Reading the tea leaves of Stern' statement he and the owner's aren't happy and see the way this can quickly run the league into the ground. Likely meaning a hard cap w increased flexibility of Bird's rights and doing away with sign and trades.
The draft therefore is going to become increasingly important and luckily DA has been one of the better GM's at farming it. Therefore 2012 will be the next season of consequence after the Finals next June. The Celtics are wisely positioning themselves w flexibility to deal w the new CBA.

No way Phoenix moves Dudley... Especially for two D Leaguers.

I really hope Ainge has an ace up his sleeve in 2012 because   We're really really close at winning a championship next season IF Ainge makes the right move with Sheed's contract.

Sessions/Brewer for Sheed would be out of this world kind of trade for us and to NOT pull the trigger b/c of Sessions 3rd year would leave me scratchin my head >:(
