I feel it's in our best interest to resign Marquis.  I'm not sure if he dogged it in practice or what so his minutes were reduced, but I always liked what he did when he was out there..  Plus, we have literally no backup at the wing. And by none I mean none.  Sure we can talk about rookies and d-leaguers, but lets not be naive, we all know how raw 95% of them are once they're actually out there.

I know I said it before, but I'll say it again: bringing back Marquis would be a good idea.

1. He knows the system.

2. He's a good defender.

3. He can handle the ball, which would allow Nate (or Bradley) to score more.  Would also be a good third string PG.

4. Aside from injury concerns, there's really no reason why he can't eventually do what was expected of him had he not gotten hurt this year.

I wouldn't really want him as our 3rd wing, but he'd make an awesome second.

Daniels was very very effective until the injury

It really depends on how Danny uses Sheed's contract.

Marquis, Finley and Scal could all fill roles for this team, but I'd say the latter two are more likely because they'd be cheaper.

Definitely Marquis. He was playing well for us before the injury last season, like hardleyyardley mentioned.

Plus he knows the system. I also believe that with TA gone, he would have more of a defined role with us.

Would not mind seeing Finley or Scal back, as well.

If none of these work out, then one of the new Bloggers made a fanpost on the Blg main page about Roger Mason (Spurs) or Jarvis Hayes (WAS)? What about these two?

I'd prefer Mason, but doubt he'd be available for the min....

  • You say when......
I haven't read anything. But if I'm the Celtics I still hold onto their phone numbers. The depth on this team isn't much better than Miami at this early stage.

That's exactly what concerns me. Danny needs to give Marquis another chance.

Not when there are much cheaper options out there.  It looks like they have no interest in bringing back anyone from the bench next year.  But think about it...did Scal, Quis, Finley, or Shelden make a difference in the playoffs?  Did they give us anything that younger, less expensive players like Bradley, Harangody, Lafayette, etc. can't give us?

Given docs rotation history the last guys you mentioned will ride the pine, like anyone else not named kg, pp, or ray. scal was the only one that saw any playing time, in the last 3 months actually....that is docs achillies heel...he just can't figure to play new guys in Sept, Oct, Nov..to see what they can do, and i mean play them, real time, big time, not just until they get a foul, or make a mistake.....THAT IS WHY WE SIGN these guys, to give us breathing room, in case of....AN INJURY...!

The more this goes on the more i’d actually like to see Marquis come back. Just pray that he can stay healthy this time.

Quis has always had injury issues, so should he return I'd hope he can stay healthy. But I certainly wouldn't expect it.
