Are there plans to bring back Daniels, Scal, Sheldon or Finley? I've read nothing about these guys.

Nothing has been mentioned about those guys as of yet; and I hope that means we are not bringing them back.

The only guy I have a question mark on is Quis. I mean most of the season he was pretty much injured and didn't play that much, but during the beginning of the season I think he was a pretty good backup.

So am not sure if we should keep him or not.

I haven't read anything. But if I'm the Celtics I still hold onto their phone numbers. The depth on this team isn't much better than Miami at this early stage.

That's exactly what concerns me. Danny needs to give Marquis another chance.

Not when there are much cheaper options out there.  It looks like they have no interest in bringing back anyone from the bench next year.  But think about it...did Scal, Quis, Finley, or Shelden make a difference in the playoffs?  Did they give us anything that younger, less expensive players like Bradley, Harangody, Lafayette, etc. can't give us?

I highly doubt Gaffney or Laf will be key players on the bench next year. They wont even dress if they even get contracts which I dont think they will. Id like to see Quis back for another run as a 3 or 4th wing off the bench but only at the vet min, and I think he is probably looking for something better than that.

There is no way Finley is going to come back here. His defense is atrocious and I wouldnt be surprised to see him retire or sign a contract mid season for a teams playoff push ala PJ Brown.

Sheldon can be easily replaced. And there has been no mention of Scal anywhere for anyteam...Finally the NBA has smartened up and realized that he isnt any good at the game of basketball.

Daniels would be a safe signing at the max raise on the LLE he can get. 

I'd be disappointed if he was our primary backup, but he'd be a fine 4th wing, and a phenomenal 5th wing. 

And with the way last season ended, I don't see him getting big offers.

Allen's departure means the C's are more likely to try and bring back Marquis Daniels, who played well prior to suffer a thumb injury.

However, re-signing him won't be easy.

Daniels, considered one of the biggest free agent steals last summer when he signed with Boston for the bi-annual salary of $1.9 million last season, has plenty of suitors this summer.

In an interview with CSNNE.com last week, Daniels did not rule out a return to Boston.

However, he made it clear that he would explore all options before making a decision on where he would play next season.

"I'm just looking to go somewhere, where I can help out," Daniels said. "If it's starting, coming off the bench, I just want to go somewhere and help."

I wouldn't be opposed to bring any of them back actually, except for Sheldon. The guy showed up lame on the biggest stage, something surprising for a guy from Duke, although it's been awhile.

Scal is the best cheerleader in the world, is good for the locker room, can hit an open three (if it's not windy) and hustles every second he's on the court.

Finley is a knock down shooter (from downtown and mid-range), who is an underrated rebounder and better defender than people give him credit for. Players like this may not get much PT in the playoffs, but they can help a team during a long season.

Daniels got the shaft after his injury. I don't know why, but he could never get the PT or on a roll when he got some time. He looks like he can do everything effectively on the court. Will he take a discount with us two years in a row when the first season was a complete failure?

None would be expensive, and all could be had for two years (or less).

The real question is will a 25% raise (or whatever the max on the LLE we can offer is), really be a discount given that he didn't play much of the second half the season?  Or will we be the ones doing him a favor so he doesn't have to take the minimum?

Lafayette and Gaffney will be strictly blowout fodder... that's if they make the roster at all.

Based on our success with trading Sheed's contract, and our specific needs, Daniels and Finley may be brought back.

I think Quis would definitely bring more to the table if the lack of depth meant he had to be given consistent minutes.

Our three key guys off the bench in the playoffs were Tony, BBD, and Sheed. I don't expect Danny to be chasing any of those left.
