Looks like there was a little more to this Hedo trade. Just read through a couple sources on twitter.

Deals not done, and I'm sure theres more to it. But this is another main conponent for each. Like the trade for Toronto, not sure about Calderon's fit in Charlotte.

They've been saying that Diaw would go to Toronto, and Dwayne Jones (and maybe a 2nd) would go to Charlotte as well.

Seems like there is potential for a huge multi-team deal here, thanks to the sizable trade exceptions both Toronto and Phoenix generated.

Wouldn't be shocked if Chandler was bought out.

Why would they buy him out? He is an expiring deal that would potentially be very valuable midseason. On top of that Chandler would not accept much less in a buyout because he chose to opt into his contract for one year for all the money. So a buyout would actually be really shocking.

I guess your right, I came up with the idea because Toronto seems to be getting rid of all their vets and going with young guys.

So that leaves Toronto with a starting 5 of

Chandler
Diaw
Derozan
Barbosa
Jack

with Weeks coming off the bench? Bless them for being able to get out of that Hedo bullet, but they're quite a ways away.

Edit: and Ed Davis

I thought Diaw was being moved as part of the deal? I think they might give Ed Davis their rookie the starting job.

Don't mind seeing a team in our division look absolutely putrid. It should help our win total.

Don't forget Bargnani in the starting five, and Amir Johnson off the bench.

I think this would be an amazing deal for Toronto... Picking up Barbosa, Diaw, and Chandler in the same trade would be three huge additions for them. Not a championship team but definitely puts them right back into contention for one of the 8 playoff spots...

Jack
Barbosa
Derozen
Bargnani
Chandler

Bench:
Diaw
Johnson
Bellinelli
Davis

That looks decent on paper. One more addition to the bench and they really arent all that bad.

Don't forget about Kleiza, Reggie Evans and Weems...  and also the amazing marcus banks. :)

I hope the Charlotte defense is prepared to hide Calderon's glaring deficiencies somewhere.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Their putting together a pretty good team up there now. Probably not a competitor, but they have some upside none the less.

What's their payroll look like?
