I'd sign Marquis right this second.  He can only be offered a small raise on the LLE, so we wouldn't be paying him anything crazy.  And at that money, it'd be fine if he was the 4th or even 5th wing.

If Nate is going to take something sensible, I'd take him back right now too.

I'd still be pursuing upgrades at the wing spot, but we might as well cover our butts right now.

As for Scal, I'd wait and see where we are in a month.  We could use more of a true center than a PF right now.

This sounds very realistic for how things might play out.  Our guys are more valuable to us than to other teams since they know the system, the organization and the city.

Rondo, Nate, Avery
Allen, Quis, Avery
Paul, Quis, Harangody
KG, Baby
JO, Perk, Kurt Thomas

That's 12 players.

Well, I'd still like to upgrade over Marquis and have him be the 4th wing; however, most of us were very excited about what Marquis brought to the table going into last season and saw him as a starting quality wing coming off the bench for us.  I don't think anything has changed that fact.

We could certainly survive the regular season with Quis as the primary backup with Bradley getting 10 mpg or so at the 2.  That'd give us time to work on something bigger for the playoffs, whether that be a trade or signing someone bought out.

And it's possible that Quis and Bradley could be enough if Quis regains his old form and Bradley proves a steal.

I'd prefer not to take that chance on what might be our last contending season with the Big Three, though.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
Originally I was strongly against bringing back Quis. Arguments for bringing him back.
1. Sure he was bad in the second half of the year but in the first half he was arguably our best sub.
2. If we can't bring in someone through a trade for Sheed, he'll probably be better than anyone for the vet min (how many guys are willing to play for the vet min who averaged 17 ppg in a season).
3. He already knows the offense and defensive rotations.
4. A lot of players would have complained when he went from being an important bench player to not playing, he kept it classy.
5. TA is not here to take his minutes (that's more of an argument for him to sign with us).
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19
