Not optimistic about Josh Howard's chances at returning to form. He's past 30, coming off a devastating injury and his strengths as a player are primarily based off of his athletic ability. Remove Howard's athleticism and you have a garden variety inefficient slasher/scorer
actually josh howard slid low into the 1st round despite being ACC player of the year precisely because his athleticism was below average. he succeeds off of skill, not ath-a-let-a-cism.
not saying he'll be who he was 4 years ago, but he did look much better in the few games he played in washington before going down. dude id some stupid things in dallas, and needed a change of scenery.
I think he was quite athletic early in his career. While he was never a slam dunk contest type, he was very quick and bouncy, making him a much better rebounder and defender than his size would indicate and a very good threat off the dribble. Tear an ACL at age 30 and you tend to lose quickness and bounciness.
i repeat. his game is based on skill, not athleticism. is he as athletic as he was 8 years ago? no. who is?
he's never been a super athlete, and he's always been a bright and creative player. i don't care if he smokes weed. you think pierce doesn't?
