How about this?

To New Orleans: Rasheed Wallace's contract and a future 2nd rounder from Boston

To Portland: Quincy Poindexter

To Boston: Rudy Fernandez and James Posey

New Orleans gets cap relief and gets rid of a bad contract in Posey at the cost of Poindexter plus a future 2nd rounder.

Portland gets a local kid who has great athleticism

Boston gets depth at the wing and while Posey is overpaid, his combination of a two year contract AND coming back to the Celtics could help.  Fernandez becomes a very good backup for Ray Allen.

I'd actually be very open to this deal if it included Rudy Fernandez or Quincy Poindexter.

It does include Fernandez.  We get Fernandez and Posey.  I didn't realize Fernanzez plus Posey's salary was so close to Sheed's.  But regarding salaries, I don't realize anything :P

Anway, this is the 5th consecutive positive response to a trade idea.  Not a single negative response or statement that the deal is not possible.  Is that a record?

Yes #5!

What is Posey's contract again?

And I am not sure DA would want to take on his contract now when he obv has refused to do it before.

But hey if we can get Posey + Rudy for Sheed and a pick...then sure, why not.

oh i get it you'd take Pondexter over Fernandez if we had to.
I'd be excited about either one as well....

oooohh i like that idea a lot..its exciting to think of that trade going down, rudy + posey = perfect backups. I wouldnt be worried about Posey's last year that was bad, when players come to Celts they know whats to be expected of them.

I really like that deal, except the 2nd rounder.

Why give it? We are taking Posey from them for nothing. They would love to void that contract if at all possible.

If the second-rounder went to Portland, I could understand.

I would do that trade regardless though, although I haven't seen much of Posey the past two seasons (his numbers would suggest he has been rather awful). If he can still defend both wing positions and knock down the open three, I JUMP on that deal.

Why do people keep on insisting on suggesting trades that bring back James Posey?

1.) Danny Ainge didn't want him on the payroll until the end of 2013 when he was a free agent in the summer of 2008. Why would Danny trade for him now to have him on the payroll until 2013 when he looks to be clearly trying to open cap room for the summer of 2012?

2.) James Posey has absolutely sucked the last two years and shows signs of aging extremely quickly and no longer even being the player we need because he's too old

3.) Why would he essentially admit he made a mistake, which he didn't, by bringing him back especially when it looks to be crystal clear that he didn't because Posey is no longer worth anywhere near where he is going to be paid over the next three years?

This trade is not happening. Nice try but it stands no chance of occurring.
