edit - that type of name changing of an NBA player is unnecessary and against site rules.

Cavs are by far the biggest loser.  No has fallen (at least on paper) more than them.  I am actually pretty confused when I hear people talking about them as a 40-win or borderline playoff team.  I can't see how they'll win 30.

No Lebron
No Shaq
Z is probably gone (to Miami)
Hickson has some talent, but young
The rest are role players(Jamison, Mo, West, Andy, Moon, Gibson, Parker) who can't lead a team.

How do they win 40?

I think 25 is more like it --  even if they pick up Big Al.

Cleveland is the biggest loser.  They lost Lebron.

Agreed! Is Mo Williams gonna put this team on his back? LOL
Lottery bound--what sucks for them is they'll be just good enough to keep themselves from getting a top ten pick.

1. Cleveland
2. NJ
3. Boston -- We lost Perk until Feb at earliest, Sheed has retired and no guaranty we'll have anything to show for it; Tony Allen is gone; our only new talent is a center who was pretty bad in playoffs and has bad knees. We are not looking to good so far.

Boston?

No.
Not when Phoenix lets Amare walk for nothing.
Toronto lets Bosh go for two low 1st rounders.

#1: Clev - they because irrelevant. I'm guessing their only Thursday night game will be their first home game against Miami.

#2: Knicks - they are losers because the yields of their sacrificing the last few seasons and dumping players are looking very underwhelming. Perhaps they can redeem themselves in next year's off season.

Toronto didn't "let" Bosh go. He was an unrestricted FA.

Same with Amare.

Correct.

Same with Lebron.

They let them go without getting a real return.

If they had been smart, they would have traded them before getting to this point.

1) Cavs no brainer
2) The Knicks tanking 2-3 seasons only to overpay Amare and a bunch of role players
3)Suns let Amare walk for Nada

I'm inclined to agree with you on #3, sir.
I'd shift NJ to #1 though, they whiffed on all the big FA's.

Cavs: Will likely go from the team with the best record in the league to a probable lottery team.

Knicks: Missed out on the LeBron, Wade, and Bosh sweepstakes. Traded a proven 20/10 guy for a guy with "potential." Even with Amare, still most likely going to the lottery.

Nets: Made no big free agent splash. Overspent on some role players. Still won't make the playoffs, but will be good enough to not get a top three draft pick again.

He didn't go for absolutely nothing, they get that huge trade exception and a few draft picks.

When are you bad enough to get a top three? It seems like the lottery screws the truly bad teams every time, and fluke teams like the Bulls win it.

But I agree with your three teams, except that you are underestimating the Cavs. The Knicks can make the playoffs. I don't know what the Nets are doing right now. Collecting mediocre players? For what reason...

Agreed -- Boston has worked it's way onto this list. This has been a horrific off-season.
