Until they actually win something other than ESPN's coverage then nearly 3 player combinations, from title winning teams, should be held in a much higher regard.

OKay the arrogant statement from James aside. If you look at the top 3 players on every team in the history of the league, they have to be in the top 8 in terms of overall talent right? I mean James is a 2 time MVP (reigning) and Wade is a finals MVP. Bosh a perennial All Star.

I'm appreciating the lunch-box humility that KG, Ray, and Paul displayed in 2007-8, where they were tearing through the league every night, nearly blowing out every single opponent, and talking in post-game press conferences about how they need to get better, stay focused, and that they hadn't done or achieved anything.

Not until they win something together.  They haven't even played a game yet. 

OKay youre technically right. They could be awful together and never win a championship. Im just not willing to bet with that premise. It may not be in year one or two but these guys will probably win a championship.

It is kind of like this scenario. I dont think Dan Marino is the best quarterback of all time because he never won a championship. However I am not willing to put 10 guys ahead of him who won superbowls. His talent was undeniable.

Beat me to it.

I remember during the press conference, when the Big 3 were introduced, DA clearly said that we cannont right call Pierce, KG and Allen the Big 3, because they have not accomplished anything together. And until they don't win something and prove themselves they cannot be the big 3.


I am not denying that Lebron, Wade and Bosh can be a great trio together, but until they don't accomplish something together they really shouldn't be getting too ahead of themselves and praising themselves for something which they have yet to accomplish.

Havlicek was not part of a big three in Cousy's last year (1963); he just wasn't that good then. And Baylor was on his last legs when Chamberlain joined the Lakers in 68-69, and retired at the end of that season, as I recall.
